OT: Coronavirus
Wow....
Yeah, DIA is never that empty. My goodness, this thing has really gotten ahold of people. But I suspect that it's going to make a far bigger dent in the global economy than the global population.
What changes have you made? Personally, I have tickets to fly to San Francisco with my kids to see my brother in a couple of weeks. And, so far anyway, I plan to go. But I have to say I'm a little nervous about it, especially with my kids. Not as much about the virus as how people are panicking about it. A flight yesterday was rerouted to Denver because someone, um...sneezed. And I am narrowing in on some ridiculously priced tickets to Cancun in May. Am I crazy?

I have heard of one case where a person wasnt feeling well so went and got tested, but went back to their job working with the public while waiting for their test result.... which came back positive. IMO that kind of disregard for others safety should have serious consequences. This is exactly what Rand Paul did. Got tested and while waiting for the results, worked out in the Senate gym and swam in the pool. He tested positive. I just can’t believe the level of stupidity and arrogance this shows.
MN Gov. Tim Walz in self-quarantine after contact with someone who has COVID-19The governor said he is not showing any symptoms.
Dayum, wish the Gov well...He's been doing a really nice job (imo) leading through this to-date.
I'm just waiting for the shelter at home order - even though were practicing it ourselves now without it.

I think when this is all said and done we will find that a lot of people have taken some horribly ignorant and selfish actions that have really put a lot of people in danger. I work from a small office with 6 of us and 3 of my co-workers have been out of country in the last 3 weeks and not one hesitated to come back to work, one even came back with a cold, claims she wasnt feeling well before she went so she pretty confident that its not Covid... because of course a body couldnt be fighting or carrying both viruses.

Coronavirus is reminding me that in major crises like this, you get a much clearer picture of good and bad humans, good and bad leaders. They just divide in times like this, don't they? It's like turning on a light and exposing reality. Good people do the right thing. They help, they encourage, they tell the truth. They think of others' needs ahead of their own. Bad people do what bad people do. They think only of themselves, they endanger others, they hoard. They exploit and mislead and try to profit.

Wait...what does that mean? So you can't have a cold and also the CV?
I could go into a dark hole spiral, see my last post. When it's all said and done, it will come down to the bandwidth of this thing, too much time before you know you have it and not the patience to wait it out.

He basically violated the Hippocratic Oath.Perhaps his is dyslectic and thought it was hypocrite oath. Or, I won't dis the Kentucky school system, he most likely went to private institution.

I am fairly certain you can. I would suspect that if you are fighting a cold already it could put you at higher susceptibility to catching other viruses, but I cant say for sure. I was being very sarcastic about my co workers logic in coming back to work sick after 10 days in another country.
Okay, then he's just an arrogant jerk, does that fit the profile better?

I don't know either. I suspect even health professionals aren't even sure about many things related to this virus. I wonder if a cold might not activate a natural defense system that might also help fight off the virus. Talking out of my ass here. Have no idea.

i suspect that might be the case if the viruses were similar in composition, but I dont think I have heard that they are similar so I suspect one might make you more prone to catching the other...but also spewing from my ass on this one. I agree that there are far to many unknowns about this virus to be assuming anything.

Turning on a black light in a hotel room and exposing reality...The reality we see playing out for the good and bad in people and leadership too.In this case a Motel 6 in Lakeland FL.

My first thought was Luminol but I watch a lot of crime shows. But PF's description is spot on as is this thread. We are seeing and will continue to see the best and worst in people. We will see neighbors helping neighbors and people exploiting others suffering for profit. That is definitely the reality. The brutal and the beautiful. Crazy times.
