Wow....

Yeah, DIA is never that empty. My goodness, this thing has really gotten ahold of people. But I suspect that it's going to make a far bigger dent in the global economy than the global population.

What changes have you made? Personally, I have tickets to fly to San Francisco with my kids to see my brother in a couple of weeks. And, so far anyway, I plan to go. But I have to say I'm a little nervous about it, especially with my kids. Not as much about the virus as how people are panicking about it. A flight yesterday was rerouted to Denver because someone, um...sneezed. And I am narrowing in on some ridiculously priced tickets to Cancun in May. Am I crazy?

In Florida, it was spring breakers , what's California's excuse?

https://www.cnn.com/2020/03/23/us/california-stay-at-home-beach-goers/index.html

The pic in this story from East Boca Raton and the boaters are at Lake Boca Raton which is about 300+ yards from my house. I walk over that bridge almost every day in the morning. The intercostal and that small lake area are not under the jurisdiction of the Boca Police (its a state thing) so they can't do anything to stop the idiots. But they called on the Governor and its stopped now.

There is no excuse. Some people are irresponsible. Some people are stupid and selfish. There are people trying to hoard and make money off this. There is exploitation all over. Some people are not taking it seriously enough. Some people are helping others. There are all kinds of people in this country and we are going to continue to see examples of that fortunately and unfortunately.

Good luck Zan
Man I really hope for the best for you.
Prayers sent.

Every day that passes gives me one more reason for insecurity but thankfully nothing close to me or someone close to me getting it.

Let me now make my appologis for jokes I ignorantly made at the beginning.

I've been shutting out national news for a while now so I was quite uneducated about what this really was going to be. I'm not sure I still fully understand but I at least know it's no joking matter.

at what point does knowingly putting others at risk become a criminal act?   I have heard of one case where a person wasnt feeling well so went and got tested, but went back to their job working with the public while waiting for their test result.... which came back positive.  IMO that kind of disregard for others safety should have serious consequences.

Or in my situation, I am quarantining.  We had a safety device on piece of plant equipment broken.  It's a plug and play unhook cables and mount, maintenance mechanic won't do it because it's "electrical" not his job.  I can call in a contract electrician, from Des Moines or drive in from Ames.  Whats the worst vector into the plant.  God bless our unions

They don't have spring break in California?

Actually, as long as you maintain your distance, going to the beach is no more a danger than walking your dog, and far less dangerous than going to the grocery store and getting takeout (considering all the hands involved). All three things that are allowed under a lock down.

I know in Denver, when it warms up, Spring Fever is going to hit people like a fucking truck this year. You're just not going to keep people inside. They'll be running, biking, walking their dogs...and all of that is OK...at a distance.

I say this only because I think we're going to hit a point where the isolation, depression and crushing anxiety is going to start doing more harm than the virus itself.

This is exactly what Rand Paul did.  Got tested and while waiting for the results, worked out in the Senate gym and swam in the pool.  He tested positive. I just can’t believe the level of stupidity and arrogance this shows.

Rate of infection animated (excluding china). Watch how alarmingly similar the paces of Italy and the US are. Also, keep an eye on South Korea. Right around the beginning of March, they did something just stopped new cases in their tracks.

“As I write this, more than 500,000 respirators are on the way from our South Dakota plant to two of the more critically impacted areas, New York and Seattle, with arrivals expected starting tomorrow,” Roman wrote Sunday. “We are also ready to expedite additional shipments across the country.”
