Dang. I hate it and am nervous this bites us in the @$$. But the coaching staff gave up on McCarthy a long time ago so this isn’t surprising at all. I thought he’d be gone before the season. Good on Teasley for holding out a few extra weeks and waiting for a better price (presumably) once the decision had been made.

Now we… still root for him? Don’t? Ugh. Waiting for better comp was the right move but the timing and optics are rough after Kyler’s start yesterday.

Seattle was known for making big moves at the QB spot. Can’t say I like the move at all, but it sure seems to confirm that there was certainly fire behind all the smoke. (The initial presser, stand-off ish attitude, the Griddy etc)

JFC Josh Rosen garnered a 2nd and a 5th. Pathetic return. McCarthy obviously wore out his welcome for such a pittance of a return.

I am not sure how after watching Murray play yesterday they got up and thought it was a good idea to trade him. I could see if they got a 1st, but for a 5th, that is crazy. I am not a fan of JJM, but there is no way he can be worse than what we saw yesterday.

I am hoping they have another QB move coming, otherwise this makes no sense.

Well if we got a high round pick, I would root against the Giants, either with him starting or watching. But a fifth round is so meh, I could care less.

Teasley has not endeared himself to me if this is the real compensation...Still waiting on that from the team.

Again, my trust in OConnell ever being able to develop a young quarterback at this point is at zero. As long as he's here, might as well just stay on the "rent a vet" cycle as that seems to be the only thing that works for him. Brinks truck incoming on Murray's next contract this offseason..

The hit rate on a 5th round pick is 4-15%. Vikings must have felt there was a less than 15% chance JJ would develop into an NFL starter, otherwise how do they justify this trade?

They turned a number 10 overall pick into a 5th round pick. Now that's bad judgement. And blame goes a lot deeper than Kwesi!

Just proves to me that KOC has a rigid plan for his so called offense. Either fit into my plans or your good as gone for a young quarterback. Instead of adapting his offense to the guy playing quarterback.

They must not want K1 looking over his little shoulder…😇

Perhaps Kyler felt threatened by JJ being there. Hence JJ was demoted to 3rd string so there wouldn't be calls for JJ to replace Kyler. KOC is all in on the dancing midget at QB. He looked so uncomfortable trying to be a pocket passer yesterday. I hope he settles in, but wow. This is a turn.

No need to trade him unless he's become a problem in the bldg...I think Bullazin hit the nail on the head, maybe Olson too.

But of course we wont know if thats true for a while.

If this is true, I have no faith in the new GM and very little left in KOC. A 5th is basically free. If you don’t have the patience to manage a young guy and develop him, you shouldn’t be in the job. Savings are minimal.

I’m not even sure it was the right call to start Murray over him yesterday. I hope this isn’t worse than Hershel Walker when all is said and done.

I think the biggest issue is that the real JJ is Justin Jefferson and it was just too confusing for everyone...😜

If Kyler struggles at home, you don't think the crowd would be calling for JJ? We know Wentz isn't the answer. So this could be the Kirko special, make sure there are no threats below him on the depth chart.

Yep. Unfortunate from the guy who is famous for talking about how organizations fail young QBs before young QBs fail organizations.

Be interesting to see how KOC spins this with preaching all off-season how they want to have a strong competitive QB room and find an "elevator" thru competition. We just traded the kid he proclaimed our franchise QB two years ago...
