It’s been reported that they offered 3, 1sts plus more for the 3rd pick to get Maye and NE said no. I don’t think there is a snowball chance in hell that they can move up to 1 to get Manning. I think they are far more likely to sign Mac Jones and draft a developmental guy in the 3rd round.

I cant disagree with that take either...I think its far more likely than trading a bunch of firsts and a high-value player for a roll on a Qb.

It would be interesting to see how the scouts stack the QB's.

My point is its no lock Manning is going #1, in fact I bet he doesn't. But if he can be around for #4 or #5?

This is what I texted my NY homes, 3 of which are Giant fans:

Getting a 5th rounder for a 3rd string on the depth chart is very good, but I am not happy that we gave up on this 23 year old after 10 games. He missed a whole season his 1st year with a meniscus tear. Then missed 7 games to multiple injuries in 2025.

Sure he looked bad, but outside of Veterans like Kirk Cousins, Sam Darnold and 1 strange game with the Passtronaut Dobbs, our Head Coach Kevin O'Connell has failed on every young QB he has worked with. Our offense looks anemic and predictable. Wentz had 1 good quarter in 2 games and mighty mouse had 1 bomb to Addison. They could not move the ball consistently.

So, I would not give up on JJ, and letting Harbaugh use his Brother's notes is a great spot for the young guy.

I will also say this- he is a solid teammate and locker room guy. Any clips where the Vikings are celebrating this year, there he is hugging, high-fiving and congratulating his teammates. I love this about him. He can be a leader for them and will not shy away from admitting his mistakes. I will root for his success unless he faces my Vikings. If he succeeds and we don't, KOC will be served his walking papers.

How come when we trade for a player we have to give up prime picks but when we trade a player we get a pickle and a small bag of chips?

I think we could give up a 2028 1st, our 2027 1st and maybe a later round pick and pair it with some of our upcoming FA's. Van Ginkle, Isaish Rodgers, Hockenson etc...

We don't have to get the #1 spot for a QB. There is supposedly 5-6 NFL ready QB's in the next draft.
