It's pretty obvious. The guy couldnt beat out Murry to be QB1 and couldnt even beat out Wentz to be QB2.

Not sure why this whole topic is so difficult. He had no layering touch, threw piss missiles on 4 yrd passes and has been hurt 3 or 4 times with very limited playing time and he locked onto receivers and didnt go through his reads.. All things that say "you're not good".

We’re also not trading for Herbert because I highly doubt a brand new GM is going to trade away 3+ years worth of first and second round draft picks for someone like Herbert…plus again we’re dealing from a position of weakness.

It honestly wouldn’t surprise me if the deal was already done and they’re waiting until tomorrow to announce it to give today’s announcement “time to breathe”

For better or worse, we’re on the a Kyler bus for the foreseeable future.

I'm not 100% sure about that, not yet.

I am very convicted that he needed more seasoning...Its clear as day now he should not have been the starter in 25...Another KAM turd left in the yard.

I was not in favor of trading him this season. I wanted us to have the inside track on him going into 27.

Oh wait, there isnt one and like has been said, where we agree is we would much rather see a young guy learning on the job and fail, than an old guy go through the motions and fail. Wilson was done when he went to Denver proved it in every game since, certainly over done now.

That's the part where I lose the plot. He's a great pro, good guy, great teammate, and we think he still has the potential to make a difference in the NFL... Then why did we trade him?

We still have him under control for this year, next year, and the year after that if we picked up his 5th year option. Just say you don't think he's going to be able to be a starter for you in the next 2-3 years and we've moved on but we wish him the best.

If it is because ownership has an expectation to win now with Jefferson in his prime and an elite defense, then that's a sad excuse. How do you ever develop a franchise QB if that's the case? Then every decision has to center around Jefferson and the defense not aging out in 3-4 years?

With the healthy issues of Wentz and Murray, we better pray they stay healthy this season. I'll also say some of Kevin's facial expressions during the Bucs game after Murray's bad plays was awfully reminiscent of how he looked during JJM's struggles last year...

He needs YEARS of devopment and likely he will never be more than a crappy backup. This doesn't fit our timeline. Can't develop a guy who is always hurt. Good riddance and I liked JJ.

I honestly can’t understand a scenario where you purposely leave yourself with no viable QB on the roster next year. I think we’ve been given half the story today.

I liked him as well...

I was really hoping he was going to show-out in the pre-season;

• All 3 of his drives vs Giants ended in punts and he had some terrible red-zone throws against the Ravens in that game.

• Probably most damaging on the field was a 42.9 QBR when targeting Jettas last year, 7 of his 12 picks were to Jefferson

• McCarthy completed 52.6% of his throws to Jefferson; no other QB with more than 20 throws to the four-time Pro Bowler has ever had a completion percentage below 66.9.

That's just not sustainable with your superstar player...

All that said, I'm on record that I didnt want to trade him this year. Unless a crazy offer came up, and it didnt.
