Keenum
well ive been tooting his horn for months. tonight and the second half of last week has shown me that he isnt it. you cant win a superbowl with shit at QB. its time to risk it and find a real QB. I dont know how or where but keenum, bridgewater and because of his knee bradford isnt it.
Just disagree. Our O-line again could not stand tall. And our D collapsed and looked like Detroit. That's not on Case.
to win the dance you have to either get productions out of nobodies or win before the QB gets paid.
Case is our best option assuming Stefanski gets the OC job and runs the same system.

He did not play well but he played great for the entire season up to this point. I’m not willing to throw him away after 1 bad game, especially after our O line decided to revert back to 2016 form during the past game and a half.
When Case took over, I said we were in trouble, because he was a backup and nothing more. For most of the season he proved me wrong. Tonight he proved me right (at least for this game). So which is the real Case? I'm back to thinking that he's a very good backup. But I don't think that he's the one to take us to the promised land. I also think he cost himself alot of money tonight.
Really? Case is the reason we got smoked 38/7 huh?
How about we go and back the Brinks truck for J.Garrapalo?
I dont see a better option on the team right now than Keenum. You sure cant trust Bridgewater or Sam with the reigns, way too many question marks.
No, they have to sign Case to a team friendly contract and try and figure out why they just gave up 60 or so pts in the last 6 quarters of the last 2 games.

nope hes only responsible for 20-30 of the points. the d shit the bed
not on Case. OL sucked and so did the much vaunted D. 38 points? pathetic. They need to stop reading their stats.

(insert vomit emoji here)

What does that say about where Teddy is at? Our 3rd down offense was one of the best in the league this year and that was due to the job Case did making plays under pressure. I hope Teddy can get back to where he was, but it's pretty telling that our Coaching staff didn't have enough confidence in him to even be a backup. I would like to have Teddy and Case next year. We should have enough cap room to sign both but Case has earned starter money. Teddy will have to take an incentive deal from us, but I have heard that there are plenty of other teams willing to throw some money at Teddy who desperately need a starter.
I would say Case is partially to blame, but it isn't all on him. The offensive line didn't do him any favors tonight, but he missed throws too. Both Bridgewater/Bradford would have performed poorly with such little time. I do think this gives you some hesitation before you tag him for $23M though. You have the defense and skill players, do you risk it for $23M on Keenum or call all in on a more proven commodity (Brees/Cousins).
Seriously? That's ridiculous. It was the OL getting the credit all season long. What about them tonight? This game showed we need more help there. I want them to sign Keenum. It will be interesting to see what happens to Sam and Teddy though.

I don't want them not to sign Keenum.Depends on the price. Although I wouldn't count it out I don't know if this performance convinces you to spend $23M on Case via the tag. The O-Line still needs to be improved, but what else can you get for $23M is the question?

To fall behind and get one dimensional. Against that D, on the road, on grass.
Brees? Hell yah, but I don't see him leaving that town or franchise. I know they've got some cap issues and players to reconcile with but the Saints (imo) have a very bright future and strong, young nucleus. Lordy I am tired of the qb questions that have plagued this franchise since Pepp went down in 05. UGH
Geoff, I'm starting to wonder if that vaunted Viking D is really schematically that good? They've looked pretty vulnerable as of late. Not sure how much of this to lay at the feet of Zimm/Edwards vs Players? Maybe it's not an either or thing...And someone will surely call me out for questioning them given the statistics they put on the board this year.
Injuries to Bradford and Teddy gives rise to questions about mobility and durability.
I love them both, but Bradfords two ACL's, and Teddys severity of injury / durability
call them both into question. I'm sure they will he picked up, somewhere, and probably have a good season until yet another injury sidelines them.
That leaves Keenum and Sloter, and I suspect a draft pick. I know that fans are impatient ( especially Vikings fans) but if you can believe a QB can improve, then you've almost gotta stick with the three aforementioned.
Things I value in a QB are 1. Accuracy 2. Durability. 3. "IT" (Leadership / Moxy)
Case has shown these things all year, grown into his role as the starter....and every week we expected him to "blow it".... We're surprised when he didn't.....and expected him to "blow it"
the next week.....he didn't. All the way to the NFCC.
tonight was a syllabus of errors, the "team" blew it. I thought our Defense would win the day, put up at least 21 points and keep the Eagles to 17.
we aren't going to win in a "shoot out", we need to control the LOS, and we didnt
This isn't about who (singularly) was 100% at fault for the loss. The D sucked. The OLine sucked. The coaches sucked. Case sucked.
I think the Case we saw today, is the Case we'll see if the OLine isn't performing well and we're not completely shutting teams out and playing from behind. I'm not convinced Keenum is the long term guy for us. I'd rather roll the dice on Bridgewater at this point. I think any mediocre QB will get us to the playoffs, but we need to find a guy that is a plus QB if we want to make the next step.
OL was bad tonite and they were bad in the 2nd half last week. Defense was horrendous tinite and in the 2nd half last week. Not all on Case by any means. Bridgewater or Bradford would have got killed in both of the last two games. This team just collapsed.

Don't know if all the cumulative injuries caught up with them or they read all their press clippings this past week. Zim should be embarrassed.
