Haven't seen this posted here but it's a very interesting read.  Pulled the link from another forum.

Vikings' odds to run the table:
Posted by: dadevike - 11-25-2017, 12:26 PM - Forum: The Longship - Replies (4)

Using FPI's numbers re how likely the Vikings are to win their games against Atlanta, Carolina, Cinci, GB, and Chicago, the FPI odds that the Vikings win them all is only about 9.4%.

FPI gives the Vikings less than 50% chance to win either against Atlanta or Carolina, both road games. And more likely to beat Atlanta than Carolina. It has us as very likely to beat Cinci, GB, and Chicago.

I agree that it is pretty unlikely we run the table. But how likely was it that we would be sitting at 9-2 when Sam was lost after week one?  Then after losing Cook in week 4?

Just need to let the refs know that we didn't break Rodgers intentionally. It just happened. GB is done. We now own the North. So stop trying to dictate outcomes and just call the game.

Falcons up next...another team fighting for their playoff lives...like the Ravens, their pass D is pretty good...they give up just over 200 yards in the air...they average about 3 sacks a game...And give up less explosive plays than we do...also like the Ravens, they are soft against the run...21st overall BUT they don't give up explosive runs...we'll need to grind on O...

Love that they are a dome team which plays to our benefit, particularly on the D side...Falcons O is averaging nearly 10 points less per game than their Super Bowl squad...they average 1.5 points less per game than we do and more importantly are -2 in turnovers...

I like this game despite the fact the Falcons are playing to remain tournament eligible...Sark and Ryan just aren't as effective together...we can run on this team and should see a lot of Murray and McKinnon...despite two of our last three defensive efforts being below our high standards, Zim's squad can put the clamp down on any offense at anytime...I see a road win coming off the mini bye and a thread title for the Panthers game that will boarder on a NC17 rating...

How much of Bridgewater do they need to see to get a bead on him?
Posted by: purplefaithful - 11-25-2017, 04:15 AM - Forum: The Longship - Replies (45)

With real, live bullets flying? A 1/2 a game? A game? 2-3 games?

Reason I ask is we're (probably) all in agreement RS & Zimmer need to see him play in order to make a determination as to if & what kind of offer they're willing to make #5.

How willing are they put Keenum on ice to do that? For how long if at all?

What happens if Bridgewater doesn't see the field this year? It's a growing possibility.

What kind of offer would they be willing to put in front of him then? Anything close to palatable to what Teddy and his agent would want?

I've been preaching patience and let this play-out on the field, but they've had to been asking themselves this in Vikingland by now. Hell, maybe they already have a plan to execute based on different outcomes. For Teddy or Keenum.

The last three games were a beautiful thing to see.

When the Vikings played each of these teams they were all coming off wins and getting pumped by the national media.

Redskins on the ROAD: (Remember when we could not buy a road win).  Redskins just beat Seattle in a tough game and the National media was really talking them up as a contender.  Vikings go in take care of business on the road and beat a good team in their house.  Except for the uncharacteristic turnovers the Vikes would have blown them out.

The Rams:  Talk about a team that looked unstoppable.  They demolished a good Texans defense and were the highest scoring offense in the NFL.  The hype around the Rams was nauseating especially from the Fox team calling the game.  The Vikings held this team to 7 points....7.  Dominated them in every phase of the game and the Fox team still were wondering in the fourth quarter if the Vikings were for real?

Lions:  Thanksgiving, biggest regular season stage in the NFL.  The Lions had the Vikings number the last three games and the Vikings dominated from start to finish on the road on a huge stage.  Yes the Lions made it interesting but the Vikings were just an obviously better team and played that way,

THREE impressive wins against VERY good teams.  Impressive and in years past to lose all three of these games and be having to make excuses hoping we can squeak into the playoffs would be the norm.  This team has a championship attitude.

California Man arrested after urinating on Lambeau Field.

California Man arrested after urinating on Lambeau Field.

Brown County WI sheriffs department arrested a California man Friday morning for urinating on Lambeau field.
Ned
Hocking (51) of Riverside, CA. was taken into custody shortly after
noon on Friday after separating from his scheduled tour of the Packers'
stadium.
"Lambeau Field stadium tours allow fans to experience the Packers'
history-rich facility first-hand and see several behind-the-scenes
areas.
Differing stadium tours are offered on most days throughout
the year" according to Assistant Public Relations director Buster Hymen.
According
to Brown county sheriff, Mike Rotch, "The accused separated from the
tour, made his way to the North end-zone and urinated the word SKOL"
into the grass.  Officer Rotch told reporters the only thing they could
get out of the defendant after repeated questioning was "I don't care."
The
Sheriffs office is currently looking for a mental health official to
assist in questioning the accused...but hey...it's WISCONSIN. The
arraignment was scheduled for Monday, but the VFW post was unavailable
because of Al Coholiq's 90th birthday party.

Zimmer: Rough ‘16 season helped Vikings become more resilient
Posted by: purplefaithful - 11-24-2017, 09:47 PM - Forum: The Longship - Replies (1)

In 2016, everything that could go wrong did go wrong for the Minnesota Vikings.Following a 5-0 start to the year, the Vikings fell apart down the stretch under the weight of offensive line injuries, conflict on offense and multiple eye surgeries for head coach Mike Zimmer.

This time around, everything’s coming up Vikings despite season-ending injuries to both starting quarterback Sam Bradford and running back Dalvin Cook.
Zimmer said Friday the 2016 collapse may have helped the 9-2 Vikings deal with tough times this year.
“Maybe it’s good we went through some of the issues that we had last year,” Zimmer said. “I think a lot of it is the players themselves, they’re pretty tough minded guys.”
The biggest difference between ‘16 and this season has been the production on the offensive side. Last year the Vikings ranked 28th in total yards, while this season they sit fourth in yards per game.
“We’ve got a pretty resilient bunch,” Zimmer said. “They play hard together, Pat [Shurmur] does a great job along with the other offensive coaches. They just like to go out and play.”
