Falcons up next...another team fighting for their playoff lives...like the Ravens, their pass D is pretty good...they give up just over 200 yards in the air...they average about 3 sacks a game...And give up less explosive plays than we do...also like the Ravens, they are soft against the run...21st overall BUT they don't give up explosive runs...we'll need to grind on O...

Love that they are a dome team which plays to our benefit, particularly on the D side...Falcons O is averaging nearly 10 points less per game than their Super Bowl squad...they average 1.5 points less per game than we do and more importantly are -2 in turnovers...

I like this game despite the fact the Falcons are playing to remain tournament eligible...Sark and Ryan just aren't as effective together...we can run on this team and should see a lot of Murray and McKinnon...despite two of our last three defensive efforts being below our high standards, Zim's squad can put the clamp down on any offense at anytime...I see a road win coming off the mini bye and a thread title for the Panthers game that will boarder on a NC17 rating...

Atlanta and Carolina will be super tough road games.  Vikings probably a 40% change to win either one.  Both have really good overall D's.

Vikings will have to play near perfect to win either game.

The best part is...  we've beat both these teams twice under Zimmer with less talented squads.

Time to make it back-to-back hat tricks!!!

Near perfect...boy, I just don't see that...especially against Atlanta... Both games definitely winnable...about the only team we'd have to play near perfect against is the Eagles... Carolina on grass will be tough, but we seem to neutralize Cam pretty well...that Panthers game looks like a 16-13 affair...

First, Zim has their number.  We have performed well versus both as we defensively hsve the personnel matchups to stop Julio (Xavier) and limit Cam (Everson, Danielle, Barr).  Carolina might be good, even though you can’t name a WR outside of Funchess, Atlanta on the other hand, needed a ton of breakdowns to beat an average Seattle team.

I think we go into Atlanta, shut down Jones, stop the run, and run down their throat.  The defense feasts late as the Falcons must throw to catch up.

Vikings 30 Falcons 23

Lol at your thread titles Barr...Good write op.

Old Trapper used to say it's not who you play, but when you play em. In that case, I'd have rather played either of the next 2 teams earlier in the year. They're both playing better ball now.

Vikings are certainly capable of winning or losing both of these next 2 road games. What a fan can never account for is sometimes really good teams just don't play well. Why? Used to perplex me, but hell - they're human right?

Frankly, I think they we would have lost to the Lions if the Kitties were capable of executing two more plays well on offense (cough, screen, cough, cough).

That said, Vikings and Keenum are red-hot right now. I really believe we are a Super Bowl contending team and top 3 in NFC. Great D, good running game, and really good qb/wr play.

I would be delighted coming out of the next 2 games at 10/3 and then looking at our last 3 games with 2 in the confines of USB and one potentially  playing Rogers again.

Yah, but these games now are for wrapping-up the division and home playoff seeding.

We win one more game in December 2010? We play the Saints in MN for the NFCCG and not down there.

F, I want lots of home playoff games. And I shouldn't be talking like that yet with a quarter of the season left lol! Can't help myself. I'm superstitious as hell if you couldn't tell. Not just a shell shocked Viking fan.
