In a world where we lose out on the younger IOL such as Fries, Jenkins or Becton & have to settle for the older guys such as Scherff & Zeitler, using our top pick on an IOL would be a sound strategy.
Agree. Wherever we add an aging vet, we should draft his backup. Of the three IOL positions, I think we should keep one, pay big for one and pay small for a vet, backing him up with a draft pick. Might look like this...
LG - Teven Jenkins, Brandel
C - Bradbury, Jurgens
RG - Brandon Scherff, Tate Ratledge (Round 3)

Anyone else think 'versatile' is a bad word when it comes to positives for a player? Good at most things, master of none? Just give me the guy that owns the position as a starter, like he can't play anywhere else but guard and dominates there. Save the versatility for the backup swing guards and tackles.
Interesting. I usually look for guys who’ve played multiple positions, particularly on the OL. That’s why I really like Johan Monheim. He’ll play C in the NFL due to sub 31” arms, but has also started at G and LT.
Same with S this year. Emmanwori has a ton of snaps at Nickel, Box, and Deep as well at ST ace. Usually the more you can do the more you do. Might be important when the schedule goes to 18 games.
But, if I’ve got the next John Hannah…

This draft would be an absolute dream scenario. I know they are high on Jurgens so Monheim can be switched out with Rivers if that is the case. Just need a trade partner. Judkins being there is a stretch however.
44. Alfred Collins DL | Texas
76. Quinshon Judkins RB | Ohio State
97. Dorian Strong CB | Virginia Tech
140. Luke Kandra IOL | Cincinnati
150. Jay Higgins LB | Iowa
161. Jonah Monheim IOL | USC
For what it's worth, I was listening to McShay's podcast and they were going over his last mock draft. He stated he has heard from several sources that the Browns are not interested in taking a quarterback at #2 and they believe that next year (2026) is the year to go quarterback.
It's starting to sound much more likely that the Titans will take Abdul Carter #1 if they don't get a trade down package to their liking. The Browns are likely in that same boat or probably take Travis Hunter at #2. The suck ass for Arch sweepstakes is officially under way.

Speaking of 26, I’m glad we got McCarthy. When Drew Allar is QB3 and 16 overall it’s a bad year overall. Unless you’re a fan of Christian Hackenburg.

Arch, the most athletic of the Mannings. 6'4", 226 lbs. All the arm, pocket presence and ability you could want. The March for Arch indeed, prepare for a few teams to tank harder than a Panzer division. He'll end up being a mortal lock like Andrew Luck.
This is like saying he’s the prettiest girl in Green Bay.

Via Ben Wasley NFL Mock draft 2.0 PFF:
Jahdae Barron (CB) to Minnesota Vikings
The Vikings’ needs conveniently match what’s likely available late in the first round. It will ultimately depend what falls to them on the night. Tyler Booker, Alfred Collins, Tyleik Williams, Azareye’h Thomas and Ashton Jeanty would all be great options if they fall, but in this mock it’s Jahdae Barron who is the best value pick. Minnesota hasn’t been able to stop the pass for years and need a total rebuild. Barron isn’t a perfect fit as he’s shorter and better suited to the slot, but I’m not sold on Josh Metellus as a long-term option there anyway.
I take it he doesn't watch the Vikings much?

Yes, please. Some pass rush juice from tite would be a game changer.

I hate the Packers, who sit one pick ahead of us with the exact same needs. Also, I'd bet my tranny mouse that Harmon goes ahead of Nolen.

That makes three recent mocks that have us taking a safety. I can definitely see the wisdom in that. Still think CB and RB are the most likely at this point, but Safety is closing fast.

Yah, I agree S is up there in need...They have Harry around for 1 more season, could mentor the kid.
I still think they'll be tempted if the DT from Oregon is there.
Feels like a trade-down year too with so few picks.
Hurry-up Vikings, we ain't getting any younger!

I think DT moved down quite a bit with the additions we made in free agency. It's still definitely among the options, but again, I think the Vikings really like the youth they have there in Jalen Redmond and Levi Drake Rodriguez.

I would love the Starks pick. If for no other reason than to see the fanbase lose their sh!t after we draft another UGA safety coming on the heels of the Cine debacle. But Cine's and Starks' games are total opposites. Cine is an in the box safety. Starks was one of the best cover safties in college ball last season. His pass coverage is so good that I could see Flores devising packages where Starks would play in the slot.
