2025 NFL Mock Drafts

This is Zierlein's 3.0 Mock. Interesting. Also mocks where I think Sanders is going to go: mid-to-end of round 1. And somebody is going to get a great TE in Colston Loveland.

He’s Sean Taylor. Same size. Same traits.

4. DEMETRIUS KNIGHT, South Carolina (6-1 ½, 236, 4.51, 3): Four-year starting quarterback in high school. Spent first four of six collegiate seasons at Georgia Tech, and actually was moved to quarterback in spring ball 2021 before returning to linebacker. “I liked him better than Campbell,” one scout said. “Really looks the part. Can play mike or will. Very strong. Plays with great leverage at the point. This guy is a striker. When he hits, the play ends. He can run, can play all three downs. I thought he was a first-round talent.” Entered the portal after five games in 2022 when Ramblin’ Wreck coach Geoff Collins was fired after four games. Started 12 games at Charlotte in 2023 and then 10 at South Carolina in 2024, winning the Gamecocks’ defensive MVP award. Served as a captain last season, too. “He’s on the rise,” a second scout said. “He played well. He’ll probably end up being about a third- or fourth-round pick.” Finished with 229 tackles (17 for loss), 4 ½ sacks and 10 turnover plays. Arms were 32 5/8. “Like his size and speed and explosion,” a third scout said. “Played tough against the run. When he hits you, you go backwards. Instincts were not natural, but he’s relatively new to the position. I like the player a lot but I don’t see him as a top guy. I see him more as a good fourth-round pick.” Started just 22 of his 61 games. Never started a game at Georgia Tech in 3 ½ seasons. From Locust Grove, Ga. Will turn 25 in July.

24% win rate. Another fav that we don’t have a spot for. Or do we?
Tried something different. Revel seems equally effective in zone or man. Knight is a fav. Williams runs a 9 25% of the time and has tiny hands and short arms but has a nice release package. Martinez might do as well as any RB in the draft not named Jeanty.

Missed on Strong at 97. Went with Zy that I seem to like more than many. Really good press corner that plays the run well. Has no problem disrupting WRs routes and I think that is important when it comes to CB. He moves very well if you watch him play. Anticipates the play better than he gets credit for if you watch some of his style. I like that he doesn't seem to get lost when the ball is in the air. Underrated fact about Zy, he has the ability to read the WR during the play. Reads the players hands to make a play on the ball. Injury concern, however.

I dont know what the draft charts say, but I would be very unhappy passing on some of the talent still on the board at 24 and then trade-back to that degree.
Hurry-up Vikings, we ain't getting any younger!

Very. I’d say I’d throw a brick through my tv, but that wouldn’t be prudent.

According to mock draft database, Emmanwori is now our consensus pick. I'm not as convinced as you that he's the next Sean Taylor, but I would not hate this pick, especially if there's truth to the Samuel rumors.

I’ve heard Derwin James more than a few times. But, yeah the consensus is really coalescing around Thanos.

Kiper just dropped a new 2 round mock draft and has the Vikings refreshingly taking someone different;
24. Minnesota Vikings
Donovan Jackson, G, Ohio State
Minnesota signed guard Will Fries and center Ryan Kelly away from the Colts. It's a big improvement on the interior offensive line. Let's take it a step further. Jackson would replace Blake Brandel at the other guard spot, and he has the versatility to kick outside if needed. He did so this past season when Josh Simmons got hurt for Ohio State. That seems relevant given left tackle Christian Darrisaw is recovering from a left knee injury. Jackson is a plug-and-play interior blocker with great agility and technique; he allowed four sacks over 40 career starts. The Vikings do not have a second-round pick, but they could find a solid cornerback at the end of Round 3.
He also has the Bears absolutely murdering the draft taking Tyler Warren, Walter Nolen, and Trayveon Henderson. Ugh

Time to get away from the simulators. My mock draft 16 days out (assumes Samuel signing):
1.24 - traded down to 32 with Phi for their 3rd and 4th rounder
1.32 - Donovan Jackson, G, OSU - “a second-round pick as a left tackle and a Pro Bowl player as a guard...He’s one of the best run blockers I’ve seen in a long, long time.”
3.96 (from Phi) - Bayshul Tuten, RB, VT - “He’s the closest one to Gibbs as far as, if there’s a crease, it’s over....really good kid”
3.97 - Jonas Sanker, S, UVA - “he’s so smart and so mature and so professional.”
4.134 (from Phi) - Yahya Black, DT/NT, IA - 6-5, 330, 35-inch arms. “emerged as a leader. He’s vocal.”
5.139 - Jeffrey Bassa, LB, OR - “leadership was on display at the Senior Bowl when he addressed the team after one practice.”
6.187 - Kai Kroger, P, SC - “He’s the best holder, for sure. He’s a legitimate threat to run a fake.”

I could definitely get on board with that draft. Jackson gives you flexibility to start at tackle until Darrisaw returns and then immediately slides in at left guard, or maybe you just plug him in at guard right away and swing Brandel out to tackle. Either way that's win win. I like Tuten at that spot but think someone will draft him higher. Nice job though. Any draft that doesn't include Thanos or Starks...sign me up.

Well, I don't agree about Starks, but I do have some doubts about Thanos. Complete bust or Sean Taylor, neither would surprise me.
Starks:
“Everybody loves him (at Georgia)...They think he’s a slam dunk. Can play nickel, safety and, corner, in a pinch. Leader, instinctive, athletic. Everybody stands on the table when they talk about him. Top 20....If he comes out last year he’s easily a top-10 pick...Kirby Smart loves, loves Malaki Starks. Real great reputation … think he’s one of the most valuable defensive players in this draft because he can play safety and/or down as a sub defender....Hell of an athlete, great kid. He’ll know everything there is to know about your defense..It’s hard to find these guys. I don’t really have any negatives....Outstanding young man. A+ across the board."
