  question for season ticket holders
Posted by: Hidalgo - 12-19-2017, 12:26 AM - Forum: The Longship - Replies (19)

I've been watching for Vikings Bears tickets most of the season. Kind of picky about what I want and am willing to pay. I found some on craigslist this morning.
My question is: How can I have some kind of assurance that this guy is a legit season ticket holder?
This is his ad on craigslist:

I have 4 tickets to the remaining 2 home games listed below. Flying my family out to California for the holidays, so I will discount prices on purchases for all 4.
Section 113
Row 11
Seats 5-8

Vs Cincinatti Bengals - Sunday December 17th
$500 / Pair
$875 / For 4

Vs Chicago Bears - Sunday December 31st
$650 / Pair
$975 / For 4

Any input appreciated

Barr not as nice as Peppers

http://www.espn.com/blog/nflnation/post/_/id/262238/decision-to-sit-or-play-aaron-rodgers-if-playoffs-are-out-not-as-easy-as-it-looks

Yes, Peppers admitted, he let up a little bit on his shared sack of Rodgers in the fourth quarter of the Carolina Panthers' 31-24 win over the Green Bay Packers, telling ESPN.com that he wanted to “get the ball but make sure [Rodgers] didn’t get hurt.”

Not everyone will be so nice to Rodgers.

And it’s why Packers coach Mike McCarthy will have a difficult decision to make about whether to play his two-time NFL MVP quarterback or shut him down for the rest of the season if the Packers are eliminated from playoff consideration.

If Rodgers plays Saturday night against Minnesota, it would be a rematch with Vikings linebacker Anthony Barr, whose hit in Week 6 broke Rodgers’ collarbone. Chances are, Barr wouldn’t treat Rodgers the way Peppers did on Sunday at Carolina. Ya think?  :o

Vikings securing first-round bye means everything...
Posted by: purplefaithful - 12-18-2017, 11:54 PM - Forum: The Longship - Replies (3)

Vikings securing first-round bye means everything — no team has reached the Super Bowl without one since 2012Mike Zimmer isn't dousing the enthusiasm for the Vikings' NFC North title, but is emphasizing there's more to gain.As his players formed a circle around him on Sunday afternoon, clad in NFC North championship gear after a 34-7 win over the Cincinnati Bengals cemented the Vikings’ division title, coach Mike Zimmer started to nudge their focus toward what’s next.
“Congratulations on winning the NFC North,” Zimmer said in the video clip of his postgame speech posted on the team’s website. “That stuff’s hard to do, now. OK? It’s hard to do. But that’s only the first goal as we start getting going. Now we won the division. Now we know we’re in the playoffs. Now, we start playing for seeding.”
The Vikings, at 11-3, currently hold the NFC’s second-best record, and are a game behind the Philadelphia Eagles. They can only claim the top spot in the conference if they win their final two games while Philadelphia loses its last two, but a win on Saturday night in Green Bay would put the Vikings on the doorstep of a first-round bye for the first time since 2009.
Minnesota can assure itself of a weekend off in the playoffs with another victory and a Carolina Panthers loss. The Vikings would also win three-way tiebreakers with the Los Angeles Rams and either of the teams competing for the NFC South title (the Panthers and New Orleans Saints).

2 game rest for Thomas Davis
Posted by: greediron - 12-18-2017, 11:28 PM - Forum: The Longship - No Replies

Seems a bit shocking that he got 2 games with Gronk only getting 1.  It was brutal, but was during the play.

But then I read this.

Quote:NFL VP of football operations Jon Runyan handed down the punishment, telling Thomas in a statement:
Seems like a conflict of interests having former players handing out suspensions.  Especially when the punishment seems over the top.
