How much better can this team be if these guys become good players?  Both these guys are on positions where the spot-light shines brightly.

Browns stadium may be a fire hazardPosted by Mike Florio on July 20, 2017, 9:25 AM EDT[Image: firstenergy-stadium-030416-usnews-getty-....jpg?w=233]Getty Images

That’s not any sort of Factory of Sadness-style wisecrack, or a gratuitous rehashing of the Cuyahoga conflagration. According to the Associated Press, First Energy Stadium in Cleveland may have the same aluminum panels that were present on a London apartment building that became quickly engulfed in flames. Although authorities are still investigating the role of the Reynobond panels in the spread of the fire that killed 80 people, the AP item notes that the panels “are not recommended for use in buildings above 40 feet because they are combustible.”
Arconic Inc., which manufactures the Reynobond panels, identifies First Energy Stadium as a facility that utilizes the product in promotional materials.
“If the materials used on a building appear similar to a known hazard, people need to know that,” fire protection engingeer Douglas Evans told the AP. “Anybody who is inside of these buildings has a right to know.”
A spokesman for Cleveland’s mayor wouldn’t (or maybe couldn’t) say whether First Energy Stadium was built with Reynobond panels, deferring all questions “until after the investigators finish their report on the fire in London.”
For now, then, it’s unclear whether the structure poses any type of enhanced fire risk. But it’s clear that getting an answer should be a major priority for Cleveland, the Browns, and the NFL.

I'm guessing all the paper bags aren't helping...

  Greenway leavig a lasting legacy
Posted by: Cricket - 07-20-2017, 03:55 PM - Forum: The Longship - Replies (8)

http://www.vikings.com/news/long-form/chad-greenway-retire.html
For the first time since 2005, the #Vikings will head to Mankato without Chad Greenway.
During that span, he's made quite an impact on the organization and our community.
CHAD GREENWAY took pride in the names on the front and back of his jersey.

His journey from rural roots and 9-man football in South Dakota led him to dynamic play for Iowa in the Big Ten and eventually to his selection as the 17th overall pick by the Minnesota Vikings in 2006. Eleven years later, Greenway’s jersey is heading to his closet, but not before inspiring thousands to buy Purple 52s and wear them with pride.
They’ve seen him honor his name by becoming a principled leader in the locker room with a heart of purple while making commitments to his community with a heart of gold. A passion for the game, coupled with compassion for others has helped Greenway leave a lasting legacy.

Greenway was the last Viking to take — and leave — the field in the 2016 season. The Vikings linebacker stepped out from the tunnel as the dragon on the front of the Vikings ship unleashed fire.

Our team of 4 will be in Mankato from August 2 - 5th and cover the camp-closing intrasquad scrimmage.
We feel fortunate to do this, and are more than willing to take suggestions for content you would like to see. This is our 4th year in Mankato, and this one is surely to be our best to close out the Viking's stay in the city.

  What's The Perfect Gift For A QB Who's 5-46 Vs .500 Teams?

Matthew Stafford - QB - Lions

NFL Network's Stacey Dales reports there's "internal optimism" Matthew Stafford will be extended in the next two weeks.

With Derek Carr resetting the market, the Lions should already have Stafford's deal in place. Stafford projects for close to the $25 million AAV the Raiders gave Carr, though he’s older and coming off a slightly worse 2016. The Lions are hoping to have something done around the start of training camp.
