Anyone looking for a FFL to join?

Geoff and I both run fantasy football leagues.  His is a keeper league... mine is a regular (snake) draft, in which we start fresh each year.  Entry is $25.  If anyone is interested, let me know.

This will definitely play to Cook's strength, vision and cut back, plus should be easier to implement for the OL...I expect a big improvement in the running game...

Vikings rookie RB Cook not in Peterson's shadow: 'My time will come'

A conversation with Vikings' Dalvin Cook: replacing Peterson, maturing and fishing

In an exclusive interview, Vikings' Dalvin Cook dishes on his legal run-ins, work ethic and drive.
Vikings veterans report to Mankato for training camp on Wednesday with nearly the entire 90-man roster stomping on the practice fields this week. Head coach Mike Zimmer is seeking to rebound from a lackluster 8-8 campaign that was marred for many reasons, not the least of which was a dismal rushing attack.
Enter Dalvin Cook, the shifty stud running back who set records at Florida State. The Vikings have a couple experienced runners in the backfield, but all eyes are on the second-round pick whom many considered one of the draft’s top talents. We caught up with Cook just before his first training camp practice to discuss what’s motivating him, how he is seeking to mature beyond a checkered background that contributed to his slide in the NFL draft, and running in Adrian Peterson’s shadow.
Q: You were a five-star recruit, ACC star and are now filling Adrian Peterson’s shoes. How have you handled pressure in your life?
Cook: “I just say you always stick to your roots — and that’s just being you and working hard. Because I just feel like if you take the hard work out, talent is by itself and you can’t win off just talent. So I always pride myself on working hard, shutting out what people say and doing stuff like that. Just work hard and you’ll get the outcome you want.”
Q: What motivates you?

OT:Stephen A. Smith: Kyrie Irving's 'No. 1 preference' for trade? Minnesota
Posted by: purplefaithful - 07-25-2017, 10:02 PM - Forum: The Longship - Replies (9)

In the drip-drip-drip of Kyrie Irving trade speculation, one drop caught my ear in particular Tuesday.
No, it wasn’t any of the alleged drama between LeBron James and his Cavaliers teammate. Rather, it was a nugget from ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith during a radio appearance on Mike & Mike.
We already knew that Irving apparently has four teams he would prefer to be traded to: New York, Miami, San Antonio and Minnesota.
Even fathoming that is still hard.
But Smith went a step further, reporting that those are indeed the four teams Irving would prefer to play for and adding, “and Minnesota is his No. 1 preference.” (You can listen to the audio clip here, around the 14:00 mark).
Again, the logistics of such a trade would be complicated (at best), and Smith makes the good point that the Cavaliers can trade him to any team they please (or keep him).
It’s also worth wondering how well Irving would fit in with the Wolves given his seeming desire to be a clear No. 1 player on a team. The Wolves already have Karl-Anthony Towns, Jimmy Butler and Andrew Wiggins, and even if one of them was involved in a trade for Irving (Wiggins is the most likely candidate), this is a team that already has some star power.

Zimmer: Floyd has ‘improved a lot’!
Posted by: Kentis - 07-25-2017, 09:45 PM - Forum: The Longship - Replies (12)

The timetable on Sharrif Floyd’s return from injury remains uncertain, but Mike Zimmer is hopeful he’ll get the former first-rounder back from injury at some point.“No, I haven’t ruled him out,” Zimmer said when pressed on the possibility of Floyd participating in training camp at some point. “When he’s ready to go, he can go. I just don’t know when he’s going to go. I don’t have the crystal ball.”

Wow, this would certainly be a nice surprise!  B)

  I support a repeal...

As long as the replacement is better for the people than what we have today...

Wont applaud, celebrate or support a repeal alone.
