"Buccaneers expected to trade Trey Palmer prior to Tuesday’s 53 Man Roster deadline. #Vikings the logical fit looking at WRs."

Makes sense as Palmer can also return punts and kicks. This is much more in line with reality than the 'blockbuster' crap Twitter was spewing yesterday.

  Vikings Announce Roster Reductions
Posted by: Kentis - 08-24-2025, 02:37 PM - Forum: The Longship - Replies (13)

EAGAN, Minn. — The Vikings on Sunday announced 11 players have been waived or released during the first wave of roster reductions.
Minnesota announced the contracts of veteran QB Brett Rypien and OLB Cam Gill have been terminated.
Rypien joined Minnesota before last season and led the scout team offense in 2024. The Vikings earlier Sunday announced they had agreed to terms with veteran QB Carson Wentz and traded backup Sam Howell. Gill had joined the Vikings during training camp.

The Vikings also announced the following nine players have been waived:

CB Reddy Steward
CB Keenan Garber
RB Tre Stewart
S Mishael Powell
T Logan Brown
OL Zach Bailey
WR Silas Bolden
WR Robert Lewis
DL Travis Bell

The moves place Minnesota's current active roster at 79 players, including International Player Pathway participant Oscar Chapman.
All NFL teams must reduce their rosters to 53 players by 3 p.m. (CT) Tuesday, Aug. 26.

Kwesi has lots of dry powder

Right now, after the Howell trade, the team has:

1 First-round selection
2 Second-round selection
3 Third-round selection
4 Third-round selection (projected Compensatory pick)
5 Fourth-round selection (projected Compensatory pick)
6 Fifth-round selection
7 Fifth-round selection (Acquired from Philadelphia in Sam Howell Trade)
8 Sixth-round selection (Acquired from Houston in Ed Ingram trade)
9 Sixth-round selection (Acquired from New York Jets in Harrison Phillips trade)
10 Seventh-round selection

The total number of picks for the Vikings now sits at 10, with three on the second day of the draft, and six on the third day of the annual NFL event. That is a lot of firepower for the Vikings to do a lot more moving in the draft, or even to trade for someone they think can tip the scales in their favor.

A year ago at this time, we were sitting with FOUR.

Given Kwesi's prowess with finding UDFA's, I would venture to say he looks at this many picks as trade fodder, rather than restocking the team ala Spielman.

Sanders to probably get roster spot in Cleveland

Browns kept 4 QBs last year, I expect them to start the season that way again. Its so obvious that Dillon Gabriel is not only a better prospect than Sanders, he's the choice of the organization to give the most reps and support to. Gabriel is a hell of a leader. Has some elusiveness. He can learn behind Flacco and then next year the Browns can decided if they want to draft a QB high or not. I don't see Shedeur being a QB1 in the NFL.

Ok, which one of you were at the game Friday night???

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- A sex toy was thrown onto the field during the Tennessee Titans' preseason finale Friday night as the string of disruptions that have affected multiple WNBA games this season made their way to the NFL.

The neon green sex toy landed near the 6-yard line with about five minutes left in the Titans' win over the Minnesota Vikings. The teams were on the field with the Titans on offense near midfield when the object hit the field close to the Tennessee sideline.

It was quickly picked up and given to a security guard near the wall.

The Titans said they captured images of those responsible and reported the incident to the Metro Nashville Police Department.

Similar toys have been tossed at WNBA games, resulting in at least three arrests. A cryptocurrency group previously said it orchestrated some of those stunts.
