And yet Jarius Wright still outperformed him....
I've got zero use for Treadwell.

Honestly, I think Treadwell was trying to go for the pass interference call. He is the one who originally placed his hand on Carr's side and seemed to keep it under Carr's arm. When Treadwell first tipped the ball, he then had no problem freeing his left hand and using it to tip the ball again, this time right into the defender's hands. It was a very odd looking catch attempt and I don't think it can all be blamed on the defender.
Regardless, all we keep hearing is that when Treadwell is single-covered, he is open because he is such a physical receiver. I have yet to see any evidence of that and do not blame Bradford or Keenum at all for their unwillingness to throw it to him. He has been man-handled on any jump balls that he has been thrown so far this year.
Once again, Wright comes in and produces on far fewer snaps than Treadwell. It constantly bugs me to see LT on the field over better WRs.

I think he has the frame to carry more muscle but maybe not with his knee. Not sure. But I'd like to see it. whats wrong with his knee? wasnt it a broken leg that set him back a year or so?

ANY DROPS? He gave up an interception. He fucked up his hand placement and literally allowed his right arm to be trapped by the Defenders arm and popped the ball up for an INT! The 1st damn throw by CK! That's about 1000 times worse than a drop. Do you even watch the games?
He was interfered with. How is that on Treadwell? He turned the wrong way. Instead of using his body to shield the defender from the ball, he turned to face him and turned it into a hand battle.
He turned towards the ball. If he had turned his back to the defender the pass would have been behind him.
LMAO, if he turned the other way he would have been looking out of bounds and the pass would have hit him in the back. Of course that is if he could have turned that way before the defender clamped down on his arm.

No.
I think the biggest misconception with Treadwell was that everyone expected him to develop into a mirror image of what he did at Ole Miss. That just isn't realistic given his physical limitations as a player. It's not pretty but he has played with a lot of grit early this season being a key blocker. Slowly his production has increased as he's developed a rapport with Keenum.
if Treadwell had not been taken in the forst round he would be a practise squad guy

He turned towards the ball. If he had turned his back to the defender the pass would have been behind him.
The ball was underthrown. He should have shielded the defender by turning towards the ball, I agree. But by that I mean he would be turning his back to the end zone and facing the ball and QB, avoiding the jump ball and putting the defender behind him. That's what a more seasoned veteran like Diggs or Thielan would have done in that situation.
So on a poorly thrown ball, on which Treadwell was clearly interfered with....it's still his fault. Ok.
So my question is then if some are blaming the QB for not throwing to a covered Treadwell, you see what happens when you do: interception. He's not Cris Carter. He's more Lynda Carter. The whole premise is silly. Now if he were more like Gal Gadot, we'd have something. ;)

Boy, if thats rapport Geoff, they're barely at first base ;)

Sure sounds like, "he's slow".
Refine or euphemise it all you want - "not explosive", "lacks quickness", "fails to separate" - it comes down to the same thing: a physical limitation that isn't going to change. Some teams or OCs might throw into a crowd more than the Vikings do, but why should we take the greater risk? It's not as if Treadwell is "in a crowd" 30 yards downfield so the reward (big gain) is worth the risk (interception). He's in a crowd within 10 yards of the LOS. He's playing TE.
He isn't a waste of a roster spot, he contributes, but - a gritty guy who blocks and plays STs and can catch a few passes when 2 receivers ahead of him are out? Sounds about what I would expect Cayleb Jones could become.
Treadwell is improving about as fast as a third round pick could be expected to during his second seas.... oh, he's a first rounder?
Well then.... there you go.
Wright should be used more until Treadwell decides if he wants to play the game or not.
The simplest explanation is usually the most likely one.
So is it the fault of the two different quarterbacks, the coaches, the defenders, and the referees for why Treadwell is averaging 1.5 catches and 17 yards per game this season as the #2 and #3 WR?
Or is it maybe that LT is just not very good?
I know where I'd place my bet.

Well, as the #3 WR, Treadwell is ranked #3 in receptions for WRs on the team (more catches than Wright). Yeah, he's not as good as Diggs and AT, but obviously he's more valuable to the team than Wright, and that's why he's playing more. I think Jarius is a better Pro receiver, but Jarius is actually a very good WR.
I'll bet Jarius doesn't "Outperform" Tready on running plays. WRs are important in the running game too.

Or injury and immaturity left him out year 1. Year 2 is looking much better. He is involved, plays plenty of snaps and is making some plays. Not as many as most would expect out of a seasoned vet, but growing and getting better.
Simplest explanation. Coaches put him out there, so they must like what he brings to the team.

Agree Geoff. The problem is with the expectations of Treadwell, not Treadwell himself. I would not have been very confident in this last year, or before he was drafted, but after watching him the last few weeks, I now like his chances for hitting his ceiling, which in my opinion, has always been as a 700 yard, 8 TD post-up possession receiver. Now, you shouldn't be taking receivers like that in the 1st round (which was my argument all along) but I think as the season goes on and into next year, we're going to see him play a bigger part in this offense. That is, IF he stays. Because he'll have trouble reaching those numbers here, with Diggs, Thielen and Floyd in the mix. Depending on what we think of Floyd, which I can't know (maybe you do?), I really think Treadwell would be an interesting player to dangle before next week's trade deadline.

Not blaming him but he could have made a better play on the ball. He's not blameless.
