And yet Jarius Wright still outperformed him....
I've got zero use for Treadwell.

I've been as hard on Treadwell as anyone. But at this point I want to see him with another qb. Teddy or Sam.
Being at the game it's even more obvious Case rarely even looks for him anymore and I think he should.
Laquon could have had more catches yesterday if Case gave him more of a chance. I don't get it to be honest.

Bradford only threw to him twice in 17 games. At this point, Keenum is the QB who trusts Treadwell the most.
I just think it's an offensive philosophy that tells Keenum to look elsewhere unless a WR has clear separation. Treadwell can catch in traffic, but the Vikings won't throw into traffic very often. And IMO that's smart - we don't have an offense that can play catchup so avoiding turnovers is critical.

You don't look for guys that aren't open. This isn't a QB issue, its a Treadwell issue.
IMO Wright deserves to be on the field more. He should have been last year and he should be this year. I don't understand it. I know players are X's and Y's and slot receivers but what about putting better TALENT on the field? Wright has good hands and runs good routes. He's fast and quick. He can and has played outside. He should be utilized more especially in the absence of Diggs.
Treadwell had 3 catches and Wright had 3 catches. The #1 WR, Thielen, had a total of 5 catches for 41 yards. Actually, Treadwell averaged 9 yards per catch compared to AT's 8 yards per, so he's getting first downs.
Wright had impressive grabs, but it's not like he "blew up" the stat sheet. I didn't see any drops by LT, and I thought he actually played well.

He had 1 on 1 coverage for the entire game. At some point you have to let him be the receiver he is which SHOULD be a guy that can go up and grab a fade. Or be that possession guy. He isn't going to be wide open often. But there are plays where we could use his size.

single coverage on a receiver of LTs size is NFL wide open. A true starting caliber QB would take that all day long. Rogers and Brady have made a living on back shoulder throws and jump balls to receivers in single coverage. Case Keenum is the issue currently and any QB that isnt willing to throw at single coverage is as well.
Why should Case throw to a covered WR when he's finding for the most part open receivers in other locations. Theilen for example gets open. Diggs gets open for the 4 games he's healthy per year. Wright gets open. Rudy gets open. Its a numbers game and Treadwell obviously isn't doing something the others are.

he throws to Rudy when he is single covered, Case just needs to get comfortable with doing the same with Treadwell. I think Treadwell is also often farther down on Case's read progression so he often finds a different place to go with the ball before he even looks at Treadwell.

ANY DROPS? He gave up an interception. He fucked up his hand placement and literally allowed his right arm to be trapped by the Defenders arm and popped the ball up for an INT! The 1st damn throw by CK! That's about 1000 times worse than a drop. Do you even watch the games?

when the offense throws for around 188 yards, there isn't going to be many 100 yard receivers. I think coaching tells Case not to force it. He isn't a thread the needle guy like Bradford. Case has consistency issues, so he stays with the safer routes.

Your blaming Treadwell for his arm being held down and no PI called on Treadwell? He had to go up for the ball with one hand while being held down?Treadwell was targeted 4 times yesterday with 3 catches and the non PI call. The week before in place of Floyd in the second half he was targeted 3 times and had 3 catches. IMO, he needs to be targeted more adn he will produce. As the other posters pointed out he is not a first or even second read on most plays.
I thought Treadwell has looked good the last two weeks and I am hoping to see more.

LMAO, he allowed the defender to interfere? That is funny shit right there.

But 6'6" Rudolph is always "more open" than 6'2" Treadwell. It's not as if Treadwell's size is really impressive at WR in the present NFL...he would have been in the 1990s, but there are a fair number of CBs who are near his size, and given his modest speed, Treadwell is being covered by safeties and linebackers and he's about the same size as most of them. Want a WR who is going to win with his size? Draft Mike Evans or Kelvin Benjamin. Treadwell isn't a bad receiver, but he's just medium fast and medium big so he needs to be amazing in every other way.
Treadwell has improved this year and even more so these last two games. Progress my friends. Need to learn some patience. He isn't horrid and a clear bust yet like a few draftees. He is playing and contributing more this year over last and has shown more in the last two games than previously. Progress.
You same dudes that defended Kalil, etc. will keep hanging on until the Vikings cut or release Treadwell. When your argument is that Keenum is at fault because he's not throwing to a completely covered WR, then its just goofiness.

He was interfered with. How is that on Treadwell?
NOBODY has been a bigger critic of Treadwell than me. I've named him a bust for a while now. But you have to admit there is improvement from him and he looks much more fired up to be on the field.

Guys do develop.
Don't forget that Treadwell just turned 22 a few months ago and was/is a very young player. He was drafted at 19 and I think pretty immature.
I used to defend Sandejo on here a lot about how he was improving in Spelly's defense and beating out all the competition. Used to get a lot of flack for that but not anymore because Sandejo has developed into a good starting Safety and he was a 5 or 6 year player that improved. I think a 22 year old second year WR can improve.

Yes I defended Kalil for far too long, but often I was just pointing out that he was trusted enough to go one on one. I also pointed out his flaws.
But with Treadwell, some people are already calling him a bust? At year 2? Thankfully we have a real GM and not a bunch of internet wannabes.
