The Vikings are undefeated no more.

Despite losing several players on defense — including linebacker Jack Campbell — the Lions were able to beat the Vikings 19-15 behind an outstanding performance from running back Jahmyr Gibbs.

Gibbs put the Lions ahead with a 30-yard touchdown midway through the third quarter. He finished the game with 153 yards on 23 carries, plus two catches for 15 yards.

Sione Vaki was also valuable in the run game, taking 11 carries for 65 yards.

Goff finished 18-of-25 for 176 yards with a touchdown and an interception.

On the other side, Kyler Murray had a middling day, going 17-of-29 for 210 yards with two touchdowns and an interception. His best throws of the day came on a drive in the fourth quarter, with a 51-yard bomb to Jordan Addison leading to an 8-yard touchdown pass to T.J. Hockenson.

But Murray was also the team’s leading rusher with 35 yards on four attempts, signaling the ineffectiveness of the run game.

Murray and the Vikings’ offense continued to struggle to get the ball to Justin Jefferson, who had just five catches for 33 yards with a touchdown on nine targets. The Fox broadcast showed Jefferson expressing some frustration on the sideline toward the end of the game.

Of the several injuries suffered by the Lions’ defense, linebacker Jack Campbell’s was the most concerning. Campbell was taken off the field immobilized on a backboard and transported to a local hospital to evaluate a neck injury after going down in the second half.

With the win, the Lions improve to 5-2 after consecutive divisional wins. The club will be on the road to face the Dolphins in Week 9.

Minnesota falls to 6-1 with its first loss of the season. The Vikings will be at home to face the Bills on Monday night next week.

Jefferson has something like 984 yards in his last 18 games. Something has to change and it’s more than just Murray.

Not to be rude here since we are talking and that is different, but it wasn't KOCs fault before, now it is?

Kinda seems like a scape goat way to save face with it. Multiple people got pretty beat up over this. Murray is flat out missing MULTIPLE throws. He is playing flat out bad. Murray wasn't it. He has preparation problems, which was the word in Zona, and people try and save face with it all. That is fine. Do what you need to do.

But I am pissed the fuck off that we are wasting a historic defense. Absolutely PISSED THE FUCK OFF. Wanted nothing more than to see him play his ass off.

Well, once again, anything that I said before, which part isn’t true? I’m all ears.

Jeffersons comments on the offense were not directed at KOC. No way to spin it. He isn't saying that KOC needs to come prepared everyday. That is the issue here. It isn't KOC. That is an easy scapegoat. If Jefferson isn't hinting at the playcalling, then I would gather that isn't the issue. The issue is preparation. Being ready, if you will.

Jahmyr Gibbs gashed the Vikings’ defensive front

Detroit made a second-half decision that won’t get talked about enough: they took the ball out of Jared Goff’s hands. The Lions chose to ground and pound, and they were right.

Jahmyr Gibbs torched the Vikings. The Lions finished with 230 total yards and Gibbs ran for 153 rushing yards on 23 carries, including a 30-yard touchdown run. Detroit ran for 153 yards in the second half alone. The Lions gashed Minnesota with power runs, gashed them with zone runs, and broke tackles left and right. It came one week after counter runs gave the Vikings fits against the Indianapolis Colts. The Vikings were attributed with 17 misses tackles per Pro Football Focus’ inital charting.

That exposes a weakness on the defensive line. It’s why I’ve been a proponent of trading for DeForest Buckner. An experienced veteran would ease the snaps on players like Tyrion Ingram-Dawkins, a fifth-round pick last year who is starting but isn’t a great player yet. Caleb Banks isn’t quite ready, and neither is Domonique Orange. Jalen Redmond is great and Levi Drake Rodriguez is also playing well, but they can’t do it all. In fact, they need to be rotated out more often.

You need a strong rotation, and Minnesota doesn’t have one right now. Gibbs exploited that. The linebackers and defensive backs missed tackles, and he did a phenomenal job running through contact.

Brian Flores’ defense needs help from the offense

This wasn’t all bad for the Vikings’ defense. Brian Flores’ unit may have allowed 384 yards, but it held a great offense to 19 points. In the first half, it consistently crushed Goff, sacking him four times.

The context matters. The defense was on the field for more than 18 minutes in the first half and more than half of the second half. You can’t expect any unit to carry an entire team to a Super Bowl under those conditions. If Minnesota wins a Super Bowl this season, it will be because the defense is elite. Nobody questions that. The offense still has to give that group something.

With a lesser defense, this game probably turns into a 40-point blowout. Instead, Flores’ group kept the Vikings competitive, and the offense couldn’t match its energy. If the Vikings can’t control the clock, the defense is going to keep getting worn down, and players are going to get frustrated carrying everything.

I’m not worried about Flores’ unit overall. The run defense was not it, and that’s the biggest story coming out of this game for me. A lot of it comes down to how many snaps the starters are playing, and Minnesota may have to find ways to get other players on the field to ease the burden.

The Vikings were still in a position to win this game, which matters given how inconsistent the offense has been. With the Buffalo Bills up next on Monday Night Football, Minnesota needs answers at quarterback and up front. Can the Vikings find them in time? We’ll find out.

Reports claiming that Detroit Lions linebacker Jack Campbell suffered a "stage two pinched nerve" are entirely fake and originated from a viral internet hoax.

While Campbell was indeed carted off the field and hospitalized with a neck injury during the fourth quarter of the Lions' game against the Minnesota Vikings, the specific diagnosis circulating online is fabricated.

The Facts Behind the Viral Hoax

  • The Fake Report: A viral social media post falsely cited a fictional medical doctor named "Yousif Aziz" from a "South Verado emergency facility" to claim Campbell had a stage two pinched nerve. No such official diagnosis has been released.

  • The Real Status: Head coach Dan Campbell and the Detroit Lions confirmed that Jack was taken to a local hospital for a neck injury evaluation after a scary collision during a tackle. He remained at the hospital for further observation and testing.

Lol that is generational lol. They got run over when needed. bears 85, ravens super bowl those are generational.

In as much as comparing defenses that played a full season with one that’s in game 7 is pointless, I’ll leave this here

James Wilder of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers rushed for 166 yards on 27 carries (with 1 touchdown) against the 1985 Chicago Bears in Week 1 on September 8, 1985.

Gibbs: 23 carries, 153 yards, 1 TD

Now I’ll give the ravens the title for rushing. But when you look at passing yards….

Ravens 2000 defense

Week 2 (September 10, 2000): 386 passing yards, 3 touchdowns, and 2 interceptions in a 39–36 loss.

Vikings: Jordan Love Green Bay Packers 9/13/2026 387 yards. 2TD and one INT.

The more things change the more they stay the same.

The Kick Ass Offense seems to be back. Why do I say so?

  • QB whisperer … ✅

  • Offensive genius ✅

  • Expert at grooming QBs ✅

  • Sophisticated and complex offense ✅

  • Master play caller ✅

  • Clipboard holding offensive coordinator✅

  • Revolving door at QB ✅

Current

• 29th in yards per game
• 27th in PPG
• QBs used: Murray, Wentz

KAO

  • Points Per Game: 17.6 (26th)

  • Yards per game: 308.9 (23rd)

  • QBs used: Brad Johnson, Tarvaris Jackson

I guess we can look up to the lofty standards the KAO delivered.
