Observation #10 in MIN loss to DET: I canβt remember a Viking offense more dull and dysfunctional than this one. I heard the 1967/1968 Viking O was pretty bad under Kapp, but I think this one is worse in a much more explosive NFL Era.

Observation #11 in MIN loss to DET: The Vikings gave up the lead in the 2nd half because the Defense was on the field more than twice the time the Viking offense had been on the field. No matter how good your defense is, that is a losing combo. They need help.

Observation #12 in MIN loss to DET: I like Jordan Mason β as a backup. Aaron Jones is constantly hurt. Pull the trigger and get the RB you need. Why would the Vikings waste a generational defense to try and save a draft choice?

Observation #13 in MIN loss to DET: The Viking defense enabled this game to be there for the taking for Minnesota. Most people picked MIN to lose and you had a chance to put a dagger in the Lions. What a wasted opportunity.

Observation #14 in MIN loss to DET: If you canβt pull your QB when he is playing so poorly, then that means your coach is not a leader or the backup canβt get the job done. Either answer-you make the call to Vegas to get Kirk Cousins. You know he can execute this offense.

Observation #15 in MIN loss to DET: If you donβt have a starting caliber RB and you donβt have a starting caliber QB, why are you delaying any trade if you are the new hot-shot GM?

Observation #16 in MIN loss to DET: The Viking run defense was very poor today as they had terrible lane containment when blitzing with abandon.

Observation #17 in MIN loss to DET: If you are going to stick with Kyler Murray, I say the Vikings just go to the triple option offense that Army and Navy run. At least Murray can run! He struggles to read defenses.

Observation #18 in MIN loss to DET: If the Vikings ever needed a resurgence of TJ Hockenson, it is this season and he shows he still has something left in the tank.

They have no real rb pretty fucking obvious
Observation #19 in MIN loss to DET: Hard to win games when you offense goes 3 and out so many times. Kyler Murray was pretty bad today, but KOC just never adjustsanything. Often, his receiver were never open.

Observation #20 in MIN loss to DET: Now the Vikings have lost and a good coach makes sure you lean into the problems or one loss can turn into 4 in a row with the MIN schedule. There is anger brewing with the players and this offense. Not a horrible loss, but a bad day.

This Lions OL has found the secret sauce in the fourth quarter in the run game. Very impressive performance on the ground

The Vikings take their first loss of the season. Early offensive struggles left their defense on the field for 30 of the first 45 minutes of the game, and it couldn't protect the late lead. 6-1.

Lions 19, Vikings 15. FINAL

FINAL // Lions 19, Vikings 15.
— Alec Lewis (@alec_lewis) November 1, 2026
The offense was nowhere near good enough. It hasn't been for a long time. The defense did everything it could for three quarters. Lost TOP, found itself on the field for a long time. Tough loss. Lots of Qs to be asked.
Record is 6-1.

.@AndrewVanGinkel's 2.5 sacks are the most in a first half by a Viking since Danielle Hunter had 3.0 sacks in the first half against Detroit in Week 14 of the 2019 season. Van Ginkel's 2.5 sacks are a single-game career high.#MINvsDET pic.twitter.com/ddyLNKZn1Q
