Ive seen more mocks with Nolen not getting past SF. I think he's going to be a hella player
There's supposed to be some off the field concerns regarding Nolen. Not sure if it's true because nobody is providing specifics & who knows if it will or won't cause him to drop.

I have heard those and I think there are "whispers" re: Stewart too.

Hurry-up Vikings, we ain't getting any younger!

I would take this draft all day long if we could make it happen. Benjamin Yurosek is someone that has stood out to me when I started looking at TEs. Which we need to add one IMO.

Excellent hands, consistently catches away from his body, and secures the ball in contested situations.
Great burst off the snap, which helps him quickly create separation from defenders.
Versatile, can line up in multiple positions including in-line, slot, and out wide.
Strong acceleration and ability to sustain speed in the open field.
Reliable blocker with good technique and understanding of angles.
High football IQ, able to read defenses and find soft spots in coverage.
Effective in high-pressure situations, able to maintain composure and make plays.
Shows excellent body control and ability to adjust to poorly thrown balls.

Stay put and no trades. I would take this. I don't see Williams being there. Ty Hamilton I like a bit more for DT.

IF we could only get a trade down partner. I would say, this draft would be complete and Kwesi can get over the drafting hump lol.

I'd love this draft. If we trade all the way from 24 to 42, that pick has to hit, and I think Jackson is one of the cleaner 2nd round prospects. Definitely want one of the speedster RBs, either Henderson, Harvey or Tuten.

I agree it has to hit, but I think Jackson is that perfect player for us at the top of the second round. Harvey is a player I want pretty bad. He is special if you really watch him. This draft would be damn near perfect IMO. It will never happen, but one can wonder what if.

Makuba is always around the ball. Has that field awareness that you are looking for in a starting safety. He is a pretty complete player at the position.

I actually really like Ty Robinson. That is one big, athletic human. I watched Nebraska a couple times this year and was like, "damn...who is the big guy?" Prototype 5 technique

If we don't take a DT early, Robinson and Riley Mills are two later round prospects that would interest me

Yeah I have been pretty high on him. Not exactly sure where he will be drafted. I would really like him if we decided to wait on the position. I want to somehow get Yurosek at TE if we can accumulate more picks. I really think he would add a lot to this offense. A TE that can do a ton in this offense. Hand catcher that can move down the field with relative ease. He has stood out to me when I started to focus on TEs. Being that I believe we need one more than people are talking about.

Agree, but I think Robinson is going to go way WAY before the 6th round. He's one of those guys whose combine numbers are not yet reflected in his ranking. Every year there's a handful of guys who go about three rounds ahead of consensus and it's almost always because sites like PFF and others don't move guys up when top athletic numbers come in and combine with prototypical size, motor and production.

I tend to agree, why I said not sure where he is going to be drafted. I am guessing around 4 or so.

More probable outcome with Robinson going about where I think he will. Hampton would be a steal at 28, however.

Dunno who Joe Deleone is but I agree with him. Will Johnson would be a stick and pick for me. And the two others I would find tempting are those two safeties. Every other option has a near fraternal twin 10 or 15 picks later. Might add Shemar Stewart to that list

I went a different direction to see how it would play out. I would be very happy with this outcome. I've been on record for some time about Judkins lol. Jones at edge intrigues me. Do we need one? No, but Gink is in a contract year, we won't resign him. Jones has a good motor. He needs to refine his game with the pass rush. Good player to learn with the core the Vikings have. Have the luxury to draft him and get him acclimated to the NFL level. Believe he is a player that wants it and will work for it.

Stay put to grab Nolen. Outside the box thinking and trade a future pick for a falling DB at the top of round 3, this case Morrison, thought about Winston but went with corner. Grab your RB of the future in Martinez, he is going to be a good NFL player. Nice spread out draft that covers a ton for the Vikings.

Thanos strikes again lol. Seriously, quickest way for Kwesi to get fired is to blow another high draft pick on a safety that plays sparingly or not at all. Games are won in the trenches and to bypass upgrading/fortifying either line or giving our young quarterback another weapon and the best chance at success in favor of drafting another safety is pure roster negligence. The Eagles just won the Super Bowl trotting out journeyman CJ Gardner Johnson (4th round pick on his 5th team in seven seasons) and some dude named Reed Blankenship (undrafted). You can pick up highly drafted free agent safeties any and every offseason because teams dont retain them. If the Kwesi/Grigson braintrust is stupid enough to draft another first round safety than they get what they deserve as they watch that pick sit on the bench for this upcoming season behind four established players with experience already in the system.

I'm having a hard time sorting through what it is you're trying to say. Would it be fair to say you're against taking a safety with our first pick?

I would not draft a 1st round safety 99% of the time, but now I suffer from PTCS (Post Traumatic Cine Syndrome) on top of all that, so yes that would be fair to say..

Let's be honest though, elite safety play is a luxury and not a prime component when it comes to winning football games. You can literally find safety help anywhere (look at the teams in the conference championship games). If you have a strong front seven on defense and good corners, that's what's going to win you games and those are the positions you use first round picks on because they are most impactful.
