The #Saints and #Panthers have made offers for #Texans QB Deshaun Watson and are likely to meet with him soon, sources tell me and
@TomPelissero. Other teams also are involved. Watson has a no-trade clause and wants to meet with teams before formally waiving it anywhere.

Anyone need further proof the cap is a myth?

I’m told the Saints have done extensive background checks on Watson and have the approval of ownership to try to bring him to #NOLA.

Lol. Cuz Mrs Benson is such a paragon of virtue.

To me Watson isn’t worth 3 first rounders. And he has to much baggage.
I would just as soon pass, Has to better options.

No trade clause, Watson can nix any trade if he doesn't want to go.  That's what he did with the Panthers last year

Broncos gave up this for a 33 year old R. Wilson:

Seattle will send Wilson and a fourth-round pick to the Broncos in exchange for quarterback Drew Lock, tight end Noah Fant, defensive lineman Shelby Harris, two first-round picks, two second-round picks and a fifth-round pick.

Watson is only 26 (27 in Sept):  I think a team is going to have to give more than the above given for Wilson.

I'm sure Kwesi is doing his homework at least.  If we still had Spelly I really doubt he would even entertain the thought.  He tied his wagon to Kirk.

This is why the Vikings have a chance. Last year at this time, before the legal issues, Watson was said to have waived his no-trade clause for two teams: the Bucs and Vikings.

If it comes down to those two, you'd have to think the Bucs would be favored due to having won a Super Bowl two years ago and their very good defense. They have a better OL, but ours probably has more upside. Where the Vikings win is Dalvin and JJ.

Falcons owner Arthur Blank is fond of Deshaun Watson from the days when the former Gainesville (Ga) High quarterback worked multiple years as a Falcons’ ball boy and developed a relationship with Blank's family. twitter.com/adamschefter/s…

Just like Fitzs with the Vikings. Except not a sexual predator.

not arguing that Watson isnt likely despicable,  but how mamy players on the Viknigs arent guilty of shit that we would find objectionable to?  how many cheered for Sharper 15 years ago when he jumped ship?   its not like our game is made up of boy scouts.

He's going to be a tough sell to a city. The media focus is going to be intense.

True, but people tend to get over that pretty quickly. I just keep coming back to the grand jury listening to the evidence from 10 accusers and deciding this wasn't even worth pursuing.

Nothing worse than sexual assault, but being accused of something you didn't do is right up there.

Just say no to NOLA

I would have been geeked having him up here.

I was for signing KC to a team friendlier deal as the choices beside him were as tasteful as Pepto Bismal.

But he's as exciting as warm tapioca.

Well, I can say this:

I was brutally disappointed to find out who/what Sharper is.  I'm similarly disappointed for every moment that Michael Vick is outside prison walls.

I'm not expecting teetotalers, but basic decency doesn't seem that unreasonable.

Maybe up until he wins a game or 2 and all will be forgiven - as long as he stops his massage parlor visits :)

Not the same but most fans of the team in that city forgive quickly when you win:
Ray Lewis, Big Ben, Joe Mixon and even our very own Purple Jesus (if we only knew)

Supposedly all the trade offers are 3 firsts plus something at minimum.

A friend texted me asking where he's going to end up.

My reply?

Jail.

Deshaun Watson situation shows power of talent over all. If interested teams want to grill him about the pending 22 civil cases...well, there's other interested teams not as concerned about that. He has multiple options, giving him leverage in what the discussions are like.
