OT: Coronavirus
Wow....
Yeah, DIA is never that empty. My goodness, this thing has really gotten ahold of people. But I suspect that it's going to make a far bigger dent in the global economy than the global population.
What changes have you made? Personally, I have tickets to fly to San Francisco with my kids to see my brother in a couple of weeks. And, so far anyway, I plan to go. But I have to say I'm a little nervous about it, especially with my kids. Not as much about the virus as how people are panicking about it. A flight yesterday was rerouted to Denver because someone, um...sneezed. And I am narrowing in on some ridiculously priced tickets to Cancun in May. Am I crazy?

It's great and all that they donated that money, but honestly who writes this stuff and more to the point, who believes this stuff?Like I said its great that the Watts are doing their part, but why does the story need embellishment? The average cost of a bare bones meal is 2.5 to over 3 per serving. Just like a lot of the other misinformation out there on SM this will get passed along as fact
People need to start thinking for themselves and researching for themselves...if more did maybe there wouldn't be national TP hording.

It's important to call out folks who are doing the right thing at a time when so many are not. And why do you find it so important to do the math here? I don't think you read it the way it was intended. The food bank of Houston provides over 1M meals to the needy. The fact that the Watts donated $350K to that cause was not meant to be broken per meal. JFC.
For those of us who long for some kind of leadership in a time of crisis...here are a couple smart guys...We can pretend they're American.

Hopefully he can at some point be reinstated.

This is crazy. I had an appointment so Ieft early on Friday. Come in today to 3/4 of the office people working remotely or taking PTO. Waiting for further emails from corporate today.
We are quite literally dead in the water since alot (1/3) sells in Europe and some in Asian markets.
Nothing to do here today. WOW...never seen anything like this.
OK I'll stop joking about it now. I'm in serious mode now.

Yep, it is serious. I'm the farthest thing from an alarmist but what's happening now is how you hopefully 'flatten the curve'. Soon all restaurants will be closed. A domestic air travel ban is coming at some point, I'm sure. Marginal small businesses will go bankrupt because of this, unfortunately. Its time to be responsible and operate with extreme caution to not expose those with compromised systems. It took me a little time to come around too, but I'm there now and have been for about 4-5 days. You need to stay home if you can.

I suspect that's coming, they will try to avoid an Italy at all costs.

where did I call out people doing the right thing? in both of my posts I mentioned that it was great that the Watts were being generous but you claim I am calling them out. apparently you have a serious problem with reading comprehension and yet you say its me that read the twit wrong? its funny, its funny how some tweets that are poorly written get ripped to shreds, but I question this one and you come at me like you do. WTF is your problem?
I rescheduled a client visit. She is older and has a compromised immune system, I am not going to risk it. I am working but not around people right now. I am thinking the work at home is coming soon.

I think Feds will listen to Fauci and will shutter everything - this week.
Speaking of dumb-asz's...
Washington (CNN) Oklahoma Gov. Kevin Stitt, who faced swift backlash since tweeting a photo of himself and his children at a crowded restaurant Saturday, declared a state of emergency on Sunday as the state announced its eighth case of coronavirus.
In the now-deleted tweet, Stitt said, "Eating with my kids and all my fellow Oklahomans at the @CollectiveOKC. It's packed tonight!"

does anybody else think of Underworld movies when ever they hear Covid 19 virus?
does anybody else then spend the next 5 minutes day dreaming about Kate Beckinsale in that vampire special forces leather body suit?
and then spend the next 5 minutes thinking about that bavarian gypsy get up from van helsing?....
nobody, so its just me? well now that I've put the idea in your head... for the next 2 months... you are welcome.

(sardonically) Whats the issue? Local restaurants are receiving heaps of praise for offering families affected by school cancellations to bring their kids in for free meals. It's met with praise such as, "this is what real leadership looks like!"
