He didn’t play well enough last year to get a guaranteed starter job over McCarthy. If he’s guaranteed a starting job in any capacity, that’s terrible news for the Vikes

He threw for almost 4,000 yards and 28 TD's coming off a blown achillies. Not bad for a 41 year old guy and he played better as the year went on. We have no idea on McCarthy. So you are looking at taking a known quantity (even at his age) over an unknown quantity in McCarthy. We have one of the best rosters in the league and that's why this is even being considered

But I don't think the Vikings will sign Rodgers or Kupp. Hopefully just agents posturing.

I honestly dont know how Rogers would be received by Viking fans at USB? 

He aint as lovable as Favre was by any means. But I always respected him as a surgeon on the field. 

I remember being at Favre's first game at the Metrodome, fans warmed to him right away.

The td pass to Greg Lewis cemented that relationship pretty much then and there.

I don’t really think much of what you said was valid at all.  The Packers were in a different spot.  They had already been paying him big bucks for a while.  They had a young QB approaching the end of their contract that they would have to either commit to or move on from, and they had to figure out what they had in him.  We could theoretically do two more years of Rodgers before ending up in the same spot with JJM.

The Jets are a disaster organization.  We’re not.  They gave him what he wanted or at least what they could obtain that he wanted.  They shouldn’t have.  They had a defensive HC and no real plan on offense.  We have an offensive HC who has a very firm grip on the scheme.  He wouldn’t be bringing Rodgers in and hiring the shit coordinator that Rodgers had and having a hands off approach to the offense.  Then their meddling owner fired the strongest coach on the staff and their defense went to shit.  Like assuming that Rodgers hasn’t fallen off a cliff since last year, I’d expect a much better performance out of Rodgers in our system compared to their system.  I would fully trust KOC to figure out some sort of compromise scheme that balances what Rodgers was most comfortable with, with what his scheme has done well with into something that is cohesive and makes everyone happy.

I just think it comes down to how much you like JJM and how stubborn Rodgers is being on money and years.  I wouldn’t give Rodgers a two year contract, unless there are void years in play just for cap purposes.  I think if you really, really like JJM, like how much KC like Mahomes, you roll the dice.  If Rodgers is stuck on getting a multiple year deal, let him go.  I think the thing that is most pro-Rodgers is Flores.  How many more successful defenses can we have before he’s given another HC job?  That is the biggest time constraint we have.  If he leaves our defense needs to have much more talent to get the same output.  Maybe they feel pressured to maximize things while he’s here.

You're entitled to your own opinion, but the fact is two organizations have moved on from him in the past 3 years. Something isn't right. Not sure why anyone would think he's magically going to revert to MVP form.  He's 41 and isn't all about football anymore.

What is known: he's a whiner, a complete d-bag, the definition of a narcissistic opportunist, a diva, and honestly...he looks as challenged as any QB when he doesn't have excellent pass protection. In his peak years, his line regularly gave him amounts of time that Darnold could earn a ring with. In games where that wasn't true? He'd look pretty average.

I don't understand, I actually can't fathom, anyone wanting him on the team. He got his ring with a team that had been building around its QB position for years, and that championship is now old enough to be picking out its classes for high school. His main achievement since then has been getting kicked out of the playoffs by SF.
