Maybe I missed it in the threads somewhere but Albert Breer reporting as of last night, the Vikings were discussing the idea of making Rodgers an offer. Breers best guess was the Vikings will "throw their hat in the ring" and try to sign him.
This is why we haven't made a move for backup QB yet

I do think they've run it through the process as I mentioned yesterday....but it never moved past that point. But just because they haven't signed one of the dusty never-weres and dreck like Minshew, Winston and Mac Jones, that doesn't bother me at all. Take your time and look outside the box.
Or they are signing Aaron Rodgers, lol. Guess who's a big fan of Aaron Rodgers? JJ McCarthy. Truth.

I've often posted I'd take Hitler at QB if it meant a Lombardi trophy.
But not Rodgers

I'll just say that I've seen a lot of pundits, Mark Schlerith included, who think the Vikings go from 3rd or 4th in the division to a Super Bowl favorite in the conference by bringing in Rodgers.
I love JJ McCarthy but I understand the Vikings looking at this going "do we really want to turn a championship caliber roster over and stake our fate next season to a 22 year old kid coming off a knee injury who's never
played an NFL snap?"
I think this is Brett Favre all over again and Rodgers would be an MVP candidate in Minnesota and have one of his best seasons ever. How far he could take us is anybodys guess, but I guarantee he's not sitting there holding on to the ball in crunch games for us.

Here’s what you need to know.
The Vikings are having discussions about what they want to do at quarterback and if they want Rodgers.
Rodgers is giving them time and waiting to hear from Minnesota.
The Vikings have yet to make a decision.
We all wait.

Bring Rodgers in for a workout, then sign Flacco.

I posted this in another thread, but why do we think Rodgers would light it up here?
He's a different cat personality wise... A good young HC in Green Bay said enough is enough and dumped him for their first round QB who barely played his first two years.
Then he goes to the Jets... Literally has what ever he wants... Jets bring in his favorite QB Coach to be his OC... Has Garrett Wilson and they trade for Davante Adams and brought in Allen Lazard... Breece Hall in the backfield... Top 10 defense...
I mean the Jets had similar weaponry as we do, a great defense, and a better RB and he still took that team to a 7-10 record. The stats look nice, but the record and how he reacted to adversity was not.
I think Kevin O'Connell and our staff is much better at coaching than what the Jets had, but do we want to bring any of that here? I get having some hesitation about starting JJ, but at some point you have to see the kid play. I'd rather roll the dice on him than bringing in a guy who may be completely washed physically and isn't a culture fit at all.
