The only silver lining I can come up with is that we will get to see a LOT of Jaren Hall. It’s easy to give up on him but his story is not written yet.
My interest level is at zero....wake me up next year at this time

I'll check back on this optimism level after the first 4 games, lol. Going to be a very rough start in Minnesota. McCarthy is going to be deprived of reps, practice and preseason games. I could handle the losing early better knowing JJM was improving and learning. Now we have to fade an injury as well. Its not about him not starting, I never envisioned that before maybe November at the earliest. Its what he's missing out on. it blows. Now the best case scenario is he's 100% healthy for 2025. I'll take it, but his development is going to suffer.

It's a loss of physical reps and field time, which is bad, but with all the mental reps he'll be taking, and knowing how hard he's going to work at it, I suspect when we see McCarthy again he's going to know the offense inside and out and be the extension of KOC that we all want. At the end of the day, only one things matters: Do we have our guy or not? And based on what we saw in camp and the first preseason game, it's looking like we just might. And that's huge.

We're Viking fans. It always could be worse. The way I look at it, this meniscus injury has saved JJM from an even worse injury, torn ACL, blown achilles, broken clavicle, etc.

Maybe... As a fan, I was really looking forward to CLE and PHI the next few weeks to help shed more light on that. It dawned on me today while walking the pooches, the thing he brought to the table that I will miss most is youthful energy and exuberance. I think the broader fan base was just staring to pickup on that too. That'll get shelved for a year.

Alec Lewis @alec_lewis Vikings rookie QB J.J. McCarthy’s season is over. He underwent surgery on his meniscus this morning. The procedure revealed a repair was necessary. What an absolute bummer.

Yeah, at least watching a kid who might get better would be more fun than watching shitty journeymen like Darnold and Mullens who've been nothing but ass for years.
