I want OG Tyler Booker with the #24 pick

LOL.

Ok.

Never would have considered this option until you brought it up. Now that we go into the draft pretty much bulletproof, I am really liking it. A dominant OL is a great deodorant for any shortfall.

Right on. And maybe it turns out to be a guy like Zabel who has room to get bigger and a little stronger. His shorter arms worry me just a smidge however.

Vikings are not drafting a Guard at #24

That gets mitigated somewhat with the move inside. If not Booker, Monheim from USC Day 3 would be tremendous value. Watched every snap of his during the Senior Bowl. Stunts were no issue. Getting to the next level was no issue. Start him at LG and move him to C like the Eagles did with Jurgens and Kelce.

Boom

I am much higher on Charles Grant than Zabel. If we go that direction, I would assume we wait and pass on Zabel.

You brought me onto Monheim. I see him going all over the place in the draft, so it's hard to project him in rounds. Monheim has played every position on the line, as you know, but I started watching him at C and I think that is where he needs to stay. If you watch his initial step, he won't get beat. Very impressive if you truly watch him. He doesn't seem to take bad angles either, which is key when it comes to the running game. He controls the line too, very vocal, will call out the defense on multiple occasions. Seems very smart when it comes to what he sees.

I like the idea of starting him at LG and moving him year two. If we had the picks, we could take a flyer on a Connor Colby, Luke Kandra and have them learn the LG position for a year. I think it would take Kandra a year to adjust to the other side. He is more a zone guy as well, so if we do start to implement more schemes like you believe, then the year would help him a ton. Smart player. Another player I like is Caleb Rogers. Just my two cents that don't mean much. lol

lol, I totally get not wanting to draft an OG. I do. I've seen some others give some thoughts on why not to do that and they were solid opinions.

After the 49ers put a second round tender on Mason did you think he was going anywhere?

When we signed Allen did you think we’d double down and grab Hargrave?

No one thought Atlanta was going QB last year.

Never say never. With the team committing to building trenches it’s plausible. Maybe even likely.

Uhm...actually I called QB for ATL very early on,  got all sorts of shit for it,  but it made sense to me for them to get cousins replacement to learn behind him especially considering the talent in last years QB class.  I assumed they would trade down a few spots and maybe grab one innthe low teens,   but I was not surprised at all by the move. Hell unless JJM lights it up this year I think the Vikes need to do the same next year or the following year regardless of how JJM is doing,  always have one in the pipeline IMO.

That doesn't sound like the board, are you sure? Wink

j/k good call there. And also full credit for predicting the Trey Lance Bustfest.

Damn. Nice call. I had them going Dallas Turner as a lock, which is why I never bothered looking at him. I must have mocked Verse and then Fiske 1000 times as our first two picks.

I was never as bought in on cousins game from his time in DC as others,  is a large part of why I felt they might opt to go QB,  i didn't see Penix,  but I was pretty happy to see how the position fell last year as I had Penix, JJM, and Nix as the 3  I wanted for the Vikes.  Wanted no part of maye or Williams,  and still have serious doubt about Daniels frame holding up, but he showed me last year that I will likely be eating crow on that take.
