I want OG Tyler Booker with the #24 pick

6'5", 322 lbs. Bob Newhart could be successful behind this line and he's been dead since July: Darrisaw-Booker-Kelly-Fries-O'Neill.

You've transformed your offensive line into a juggernaut, making the interior questionable to terrifying in one offseason. Those are all big, athletic dudes that will be nastier than ever. With KAM killing it to improve what we all agree are the two most important parts of a football team, OL and DL, Booker pushes you into maybe elite territory where they impose their wills, plus he's good friends with JJM from high school. That gets you at the table with Detroit and Philadelphia. Its a little insane how much the Vikings have improved areas that needed it to move up a level.

JJ is going to feel like he's back at Michigan for that national title run team. And we know what he did with that opportunity. Draft a bigger RB with that 3rd round comp pick to complement AJ and who knows what can happen? I think you'll see an offense that will be truly unpredictable and can run when needed in a real way, that's when you'll see KOC pull away from teams in games instead of these close ones.

I luv the OL sentiment...But I think they got other areas of bigger need

Interesting.

With Kelly and Fries coming in we might move more towards a duo scheme. Booker I think would fit well in that scheme. I like the idea of bully ball. Put together a line that snatches souls and closes out games grinding the clock.

He's not a good fit in our OZB scheme. Doesn't have the feet for it. At the combine his 40 time was 5.38.

I think you could build the same thing with Rouse.

You'd have 4 first round picks on that offensive line and Fries. Talk about a 90's Dallas Cowboys kind of team: a dominating offensive line and great skill players. You win a lot of games that way. Important ones.

Totally agree. Booker is the most impressive player I have seen in the draft.  He dominates people. The penn st edge and hunter, cam ward are all studs obvi, but Booker would be a home run for us. I’m thinking he goes top 10-15 at latest, so not to hopeful we could get him.

I've seen him slotted where Minnesota will pick, we'll see. He can be dominating. Would love to see it. Here's his quote:

The Minnesota Vikings run blocking scheme under head coach Kevin O'Connell is zone-heavy, primarily utilizing inside and outside zone runs, but also incorporating gap runs and duo runs.
Here's a more detailed breakdown:
Zone-Heavy Scheme: The Vikings' offense is built around a zone-heavy running game, similar to the scheme employed by the Los Angeles Rams, where O'Connell previously worked under Sean McVay.
Inside and Outside Zone Runs: The core of their run game revolves around inside and outside zone runs.
Duo Runs: They also incorporate duo runs, which are a type of gap run.

We just acquired 40% of our OL from a team that runs a lot of duo. I think we’ll start seeing more incorporated into our game.

Booker could be a slam dunk but I know the Vikings like Rouse a lot and a move to G has been talked about. Could be a moot point as Booker might be off the board well before 24.

But this idea is growing on me. Especially as someone who watched a lot of Eagles games.

Plus an opportunistic defense that will give that offense plenty of chances to score and now the other team has to play perfectly all game to be competitive. Very tough to do. I'm telling you, it is the way. They just have to do this one more thing, they are so close....if not Booker, another drafted OG that will annihilate and ask questions later. This translates to road games, outside games, hostile environments: snatch their souls and watch them fold up, including the fans. Suddenly, this daunting 2025 schedule doesn't look that daunting.
