Battle for RB3?
#1
The Purple Persuasion
@TPPSkol
A new candidate for RB3 is emerging from Vikings training camp says
@BenGoessling
.

Making the spot ahead of 4th year vet Ty Chandler was Zavier Scott.  Scott spent the 2024 season on the Vikings practice squad but is making some noise at camp.

Goessling adds that "the three preseason games could ultimately determine the third running back spot..." he gives the nod to Scott, as of now.

Another camp battle to keep an eye on.

Know nothing about Scott, but this is good news. We need someone who can push Chandler. He needs to know that if he can't be trusted in pass pro, he can't be RB3.

Overview
Scott is a fun watch on tape thanks to his versatility and the passion he shows on the field. He’s a big athlete who plays fast and with good determination, but he will be much more intriguing for teams with creative play-callers who are looking for multi-dimensional prospects. While he’s not a pure running back, he does possess running back talent and the same can be said about him as a receiver, although he needs much more polish. His toughness with the ball in his hands and potential roster flexibility make him worthy of Day 3 consideration.

Strengths
Offers versatility as a runner, receiver and special-teamer.
Powerful and determined with the ball in his hands.
Sees and gets to cut-and-go opportunities on stretch runs.
Hard to tackle when he gets going.
Plays to his top speed.
Good leaper with above-average catch radius.
Weaknesses
Upright runner getting through the line of scrimmage.
Isn’t a naturally instinctive run-finisher.
Routes lack attention to detail.
Not very sophisticated with his press release.
Needs to work on carving out catch positioning.
