Fromm Jacob, With Love

I think, perhaps hope, the salary cap and Cousins production, will demand a serious look at pushing that huge cap number off the books. We have a ton of young talent to pay for and retain. A young QB with moxy will allow us to remain competitive and retain our young core.
29 more games in the Cousins era...

Kiper just put Jacob Eason into the top 25 players in the Draft. Big kid with a nice arm. Confident.
IIRC, Eason started at Georgia...another one to definitely consider...

I don't necessarily disagree, I'm just clarifying. Why would this be preferable than just drafting a QB with the one pick we do have? You thinking try to snag a Tackle AND a QB? I like Fromm too, btw. He looks great.

I hope, perhaps think, this decision will be a difficult one.
@"pattersaur" said:Yep...especially when drafting a QB you want a option for a fifth year...value wise I think late first works...doubling down on an OT and a QB...that would be ideal@"BarrNone55" said: Right now, I'd trade back into the first and grab Fromm...I'm liking everything I read about him...he's one cool customer... Explaining the burning $84 million of Zygi's money without the desired end result is a tough conversation...but sometimes ripping the bandaid off is the best thing...

Maybe, but I need to see more. I'm not yet completely convinced that Cousins can't win a big game. And if he does, how does that change things?Either way, I agree that we have to make the decision on Cousins THIS year.
That int vs GB along with the multiple fumbles, which is a career trend, was it for me. Done and done.

Good size, big arm, but to me he comes up lacking in traits that Fromm seems to excel at...someone will fall in love with the arm talent and take him as the third QB off the board...

Yep, Fromm has great intangibles for sure. I've just seen these highly productive QBs in college that have good intangibles but lack arm strength flounder in the NFL. Not saying Fromm will, but Fromm seems to fit that 'type' somewhat.
But obviously conversely, big arm draft talent means little to nothing. We've seen it come and go yearly. So the draft is clear as mud!

Eason attended Lake Stevens High School in Lake Stevens, Washington, and was rated by Rivals as a five-star recruit. He was ranked as the best pro-style quarterback and best player overall in the 2016 class.
Jake Fromm -- and the Bulldogs quickly committed to the quicker thinking player, even if it meant making some concessions with the ability to hit every throw on the field.
Quicker thinking...it's key...he can get more arm strength...getting the ball out fast is key...

Yep, he's got things to work on. 5 star recruit and best player in the nation in 2016 is staggering. Upside is very big. Good size, yet he's more mobile than most guys that height.
Based on size and arm strength, he'll probably go higher than Fromm...which have been the wrong indicators for success at the next level...

Not sure who, but if Minnesota wants a QB, they'll be able to get one in the Draft.
