Which team claimed Sloter?
I can't find it anywhere. As big of a talent as him surely would have been claimed, after all many here proclaimed he would be highly sought after and take a team to the super bowl. I did see that Deshon Kizer got claimed by the Raiders. Seems the QB whisperer John Gruden would surely see the talent in Sloter over Kizer????? How could so many teams be so wrong about this kid?????

What if we didn't, which is the reality of the situation. Him and his parents lobbying in the media for him to get a better spot on the team was pretty much the end in purple for KS. Teams have no time for 3rd string guys creating distractions which is about as dumb as it gets for a 3rd string guy to be doing. His talent for sandlot football against 3rd string scrubs with no real schemes or complex defenses is nice but not enough to build an NFL starter's career upon.
Yeah, I followed Sloter on Twitter. He got off on fans thinking he was some kind of great QB in waiting. I don't think he's the most mature kid. And the 'Sloter House' t-shirts?? LMAO. I wonder if any other practice squad QBs are marketing t-shirts with their name on them. And his family also got a bit silly about it all.
he was self promoting (almost like he was admitting his fame was fleeting and trying to cash in) the shirts were lame as hell. family... well find a mom or dad whos kid isnt deserving of more.
I just find it interesting. None of it is really surprising. As you say, why not make a little money on t-shirts and I believe he actually was giving most of the proceeds to charity? So good on Kyle. Nothing bad about the kid at all, I was rooting for the guy to progress just like we all were when the team snagged him from Denver. Its just interesting he bought into some hype about himself when in reality, the coaches needed to see a lot more. Can't just say, 'Im a gamer' to rationalize shortcomings. He seemed in denial about that.
time will tell, there are some guys out there that just flip a switch and play much better than they practice. I think a large part of my irritation with the coaches is that he wasnt givent the chance to lose the 2nd spot and all the additional reps with the starters and 2s that come with it. Mannion came in and was handed the role. the opportunities to grow in todays NFL with limited practices is getting less and less and when the lights were on the kid came to win, all we wanted was for him to get a real opportunity to show that against better talent and with better talent and time to prepare. I was fully ready to eat crow on this matter if he would have gotten his shot, but I think it escalated to quickly and the coaches and team circled the wagons to avoid a QB controversy (if thats possible for the 2nd string role)EDIT: I did not know that about the shirts being for charity, good for him.
either way, he is gone now and onto the regular season.
So I listened to the team shill, and told you that Sloter wouldn't be #2 QB, and why.....and all I ever got from you is, "You keep saying the same thing". Well, so did you.
Several people here were pimping Sloter saying we'd all be sorry when he was picked up and won a super bowl (something that is extremely hard to do from a practice squad). I'm also in a facebook Vikings "FAN" group (I use fan term lightly as a lot of people there just bash the coaches and most of our players), so some of those comments could come from there.
Sloter praisers will never admit they carried their man crush too far. I just don't get the love a praise for a guy the coaches say isn't ready, then 31 other teams thought the same thing (and yes, I know that AZ picked him up for PS, but that is a place for players that aren't ready).
Sloter's self praise and promotion probably hurt him. But he did it in the one place that puts 3rd string QB's on the highest of pedestals, and the bid 3rd string QB fans responded and got out of control.........and then he was no longer a viking.
Here's an example of a little craziness by some of the Sloter lovers.
From the Vikings page on Facebook. You can't make this stuff up!
This was my all time favorite.....
looks like that shit doesnt come from here, so take your responses and direct them to where ever that shit comes from, why try and put that shit on people who havent said it? the reason the rest of us avoid those places is because of shit like that.
the reason we keep repeating what we have said on Sloter is because of people like you that try and make it look like we are saying shit we arent. if you want to drone about crazies go back to the crazies. The comments on Sloter that have been made here are less about his potential and more about not testing his potential vs a guy with about zero upside that was just handed a job. these are more about how the team is being run vs Sloter exactly.
I think people like yourself that crave Vikings news suffer as posters because of all your sources. Its certainly not unique to you either, I have seen it from many others (and likely myself in the past as well) but carrying something from one source to the next just pisses people off and creates schisms.
Wow, Joe you are really a "sore" winner! Who cares the positions that fans take! And, no I did not take a position on Sloter. Doesn't matter! Fellow fans support the Vikings, that's cool! The rest just does not matter. You can stop your spam campaign anytime now. It's not a good look.
Players come and players go. Only ones I'd hang my hat on are the retired guys, they're not going anywhere. I do have Thielen jersey, gotta support a home grown Viking! I thought Adam was very impressive at his first training camp, thought he had talent and may develop. Course, one doesn't dare say that on a Vikings board or the pragmatic guys will get you for thinking a player could be good.

The only players that matter to me right now are the 53 that are on the active roster. Should have Sloter been given the opportunity to play with the 2nd team...maybe, maybe not? Apparently not. Not our call. Everything that has happened yesterday or the day before is done. Time to move on and get ready for the real games. Whoever got cut and is no longer on the team is pretty much forgotten as far as I'm concerned. No reason to look back and dwell on it. This is just my opinion.Players come and players go. I used my eyes watching on TV, and added sports reporters and viking insiders to understand why Sloter was held back. He didn't have what it takes to be a COMPLETE QB.
You can bag on me for listening to PA and others, but your pretty short sighted just using the limited views on TV against guys that got the same day Sloter did. I fully understand if he can't get what he needs to in practice, how can you put him out there against tougher competition?
I think this is less about Sloter, and more about the complainers not liking Zim, Rick and Cousins.
I see Sloter as an athletic kid who has a lot to learn. 32 GMs and coaches see him that way too.
People here and other vikings sites got way to wound up about a 3rd string QB, yet again. History keeps repeating itself. Vikings fans elevate the 3rd stringer to elite status, then that QB moves on and holds the same spot in other teams line-ups.

Bagging on vikings management and coaches constantly and taking shots at Cousins is not supporting the vikings. Seriously, with how people post about the leaders on this team, how is that supporting the vikings?
I've been putting up with endless posts about how awesome Sloter is, and how we are missing the boat on him, they dished it out and now they have to take it back for a bit.
@"JimmyinSD" said:@"JoDakota" said: lol.....several people claimed that he would be snatched off waivers and win a superbowl, and guys like me would be sorry. The kid is on his 3rd practice squad in 4 years, hardly a path to NFL glory. No team even put a waiver claim on him, even the Raiders chose Deshon Kiser ahead of him......yet, he is still mr. wonderful....... who were those people here? you seem to be putting a lot of shit on people that disagreed with the coaches use of Sloter in preseason and pulling retarded comments from other places to try and bolster your position. all that shit does is rile people up, enough already.as far as PA, yeah... there is a solid source of quality information. PA is given a packet that says who he is supposed to pimp and what "hot takes" he is supposed to make, he is a shill for the team and nothing more. when was the last time you actually heard him take a position that was counter to what the coaches or GM does.... exactly... but hey, he was at practice every day.
He knows far more about the Sloter situation than you, and 31 other GMs and coaches apparently felt the same way.......at least I used all the information available to understand why Sloter didn't get more of an opportunity. If a player can't succeed in practice, how can anyone think they can succeed vs. real competition.

Yes, yes, I can see how difficult it is for you to deal with alternative points of view! Don't really have to read the threads or egg others on, right? Maybe you do, who knows or cares.
Apparently you do or you wouldn't have taken the time to post.
Ahhh, true, but I didn't start a bait thread like you or post the same thing ad naseum in other threads... We gotta put up with your posts just like you whined above about having to put up with others points of view. So you win the internet on Sloter! Good job

Putting up with what? You didnt post here for months until this Sloter stuff came up and then you come and make claims that are not connected to this board. Settle the fuck down or go back to facebook or what ever shit take board you have been pulling your opposing takes from.If you think I am hard on Rick. Go ask njvike for a reference on me. I have stood up for Zimmer could tless times when it's been merited and ask Berzerker how I feel about Cousins.
