Hearing Rumblings of more bad news - Everson

A lot of those guys still stay in touch.@"Kentis" said: I bet Pops knows... Nah, Brian isn't part of the team anymore. He's not in the know unless he asks somebody. I'm sure he definitely could find out if he wanted to in a heartbeat.
He actually knew before the media frenzy. He was called by a teammate.
Bring BRob back at RDE and move Hunter to LDE...
@"ArizonaViking" said: Bring BRob back at RDE and move Hunter to LDE...wont happen, Spielman would have to ask Brian to come back and I dont think he would be willing to do that... has to be some bad blood there to cut Brian in his last year while still playing at a respectively high level... especially considering how Brian was setting the defense on the field last year on 3rd downs and other special situations. I would love to see him back, but I am not holding my breath that rick would make that call.
@"JimmyinSD" said:Or that Brian would even say yes. You are only feeding the stigma of mental health issues. Your words tells me all I need to know. I love football but this man's health and wellbeing, his family's health and wellbeing go way beyond football. That's priority number one right now. Damn right!!! Kick a man while he's down.Especially when that man out weight, out runs and pounds the piss out of people on a weekly basis. In fact if I was going to take a shot at any current or former NFL players it better be while their restrained or it would turn out bad for me!!!! :)
Reminds me of a guy at training camp when Adrian Peterson was with the team. This guy behind me says "Adrian is looking skinny, I could take him". Lol as if Adrian has ever looked skinny and not even in his wildest wet dreams could he take him. Take him for a ride in his Uber maybe. False bravado is nauseating.
its a guy thing lol
Brian wanted to play this year. I guess time will tell if the bridge burned or not.
I have no doubt in my mind if the team or a teammate asked him Brian would be in uniform that day.

@"StickyBun" said:I totally get standing up for your son. I do the same thing for mine. But it's rarely an objective take. Right or wrong, I have no reason to believe that the Vikings' decision to release Robison was based in anything other than what they thought was best for the team this year, and in the future. It happens on every team, every season. So if asking Robison to come back is best for the Vikings, then that's what will happen. I hope it does and I hope Robison comes back if Griffen is out for any length of time. He could give the Vikings an emotional boost at a time when they need it most.@"MaroonBells" said:POPS does....but he's his Dad. Emotion is rooted in it. It gets clouded. He blames Spielman. You don't? If my employer asked me to take a pay cut, I would probably start to question if my contribution to the company justified my compensation. If they asked me two years in a row, I'd know the answer to that question. I'm not sure how many times a team is supposed to keep players around for "one more year." Jesus, look around....every aging veteran in the NFL wants to play one more year. Now, you can argue that Robison might have given us more than, say, Bower and/or Weatherly. That's a legit debate we can have. What is the upside/downside of choosing Robison over a young player you may not want to expose to waivers? Dunno. I might even come down on the side of Robison if that is the calculation being made. But this idea that Robison was "fired" because...um...what? Something personal? Hell I don't even know the argument being made.

Then why argue?Seriously.
Myself and others have made those arguments elsewhere. If you haven't followed, that is fine. But then why proclaim you don't know what you are talking about?
@"MaroonBellbuds" said:Maybe because they got it from me. Some of the things that have gone on between Brian and his agent with RS. Also the way everything was done last year during the eventual pay cut and knowing Brian wanted to retire a Viking at the end of this year. Asking him this year to take a huge pay cut, which he agreed to and then releasing him. There is a lot of things, but here's a good question to ponder. If it's not personal and your team is in a bit of a turmoil (like now) why haven't you already made a call to a player who kept your defense running smoothly for the past couple of years? And the same player was described by Zimmer as being one of the best leaders be has come across during his career. If you answer those questions then tell me what conclusion you come too.@"suncoastvike" said: I have no doubt in my mind if the team or a teammate asked him Brian would be in uniform that day. In fairness Pops the Vikings might not know what direction the Griffen thing is going? Although its wuite possible touve got better connections then any of us.
I agree I was pissed that the Vikings released him at cut down time but I have to think its because the Vikings brass thought going younger was the right direction? The leadedship gets judged play to play, game to game and year to year. I cant imagine theyd risk their carreers over some sort of vendetta over a player?
Anyway, I hope like hell that they ask Brian back (and he accepts) and that he fills a leadership void we obviously have and our D goes onto great things and brings a championship home.
I dont have it yet but i probably need to track down a Brob jersey for my wall of fame that has my favorite vikings on it because Brian certainly belongs there.

As the Bard of our time, Emmitt Smith, once so eloquently stated : "A leopard can't change its stripes".
This team just NEVER ceases to amaze me with their BS.
Classic NJ. Exactly what you would expect from a trash bag of a state, trash opinions
It's the proximity to Philly.
