WK 09 ~Bills @ Vikings Week ~ Discussion, Pressers, News, etc.
The 6-1 Bills are coming to U.S. Bank on Monday night, Nov. 9th. (I hate waiting for MNF when we play ~ LOL) Though we have a tied record, they are currently the League's #1 seed. We need to change that!
I know we're disappointed with how things are going right now, but let's keep positive!!!

Is this guy always going to be injured to some extent?
Doesn’t sound encouraging based on this answer from Christian Darrisaw about his shoulder. He was a limited participant in practice yesterday, but seems like that shoulder could be a problem: pic.twitter.com/1d3YvgMmkz

“I’m watching the #Vikings QB position. Especially when they have an all world defense that’s good enough to win a Super Bowl where they need the QB to play well. Where they need the offense to produce. Again, with everything going on, I’m watching the Vikings QB position.”

It certainly seems that way, doesn’t it?
I compared Darrisaw to Slater who's also had his issues staying on the field:
Slater has missed a significantly higher percentage of his team’s offensive snaps over his career than CD. Due to missing the entire 2025 season and almost all of the 2022 season, Slater has missed roughly 45% to 50% of the Chargers' total offensive snaps since he was drafted.
By contrast, Darrisaw has missed roughly 35% of the Vikings' offensive snaps.
Hurry-up Vikings, we ain't getting any younger!
Easy to root for Carson Wentz. He was willing to destroy his body for the chance to play quarterback for his favorite team last season and now gets the chance to step in and save the offense with the team at 6-1.

Carson Wentz Has A Simple Plan for Monday Night
It’s strange to be talking about a QB change for a team that sits with a 6-1 record but the Vikings have been winning in spite of their offense, not because of it.
Brian Flores and his defense look championship caliber, while the offense has been bottom of the barrel. We head into Week 9 and it hasn’t gotten better and now there is a one in the loss column. With tough games on the horizon and the trade deadline looming, it’s a time for some big decisions in Minnesota.
Reports straight after last week’s game that Kyler Murray had hamstring soreness seemed to be setting the scene for a switch at QB and so it proved.
The conspiracy theorists will call it a soft benching. Whatever it is, it comes with fortunate timing as O’Connell gets a chance to look at how his offense runs with Carson Wentz under center before the trade deadline passes. If it runs well the Vikings should stick with Wentz; if it doesn’t then they have to think about trading for a QB or risk letting this season slip away.
If Carson Wentz looks the part, then the Vikings can think about trading for a running back to make this offense even stronger. A functioning passing game alongisde a Jonathan Taylor or Breece Hall added to the mix could suddenly make this team look like a genuine contender. For Wentz to be part of the plan moving forward he needs a good game on Monday and his plan for that is a simple one.
The Carson Wentz Plan
The clamor for Wentz came about because when he’s played in the past he’s been able to force the ball to Justin Jefferson. There needs to be a confidence and willingness to take a risk to feed the ball to Jefferson as he is so tightly bracketed by opposing defenses. It may cause some turnovers but it’s worth the risk, especially when throwing to such a talented receiver.
The plan with Murray seemed to be that if the team plays it safe and doesn’t turn the ball over, the Vikings will be alright. It did work to an extent on the back of what the defense was doing, but against the stronger teams it has become clear that’s not going to be good enough.
Wentz now has a chance and he knows exactly what he has to do: get the ball to Jefferson. Wentz made a big point of it when he spoke to the media this week.
With all the talk about Kevin O’Connell’s complicated offense, and what’s needed from his QB, Wentz had a simple answer when talking about Jefferson: “Just get him the rock.”
I do believe that O’Connell overcomplicates his offense at times, and a veteran QB simplifying the game could be just what he and his offense need. The frustrated Jefferson that we saw at the end of last week’s game strikes fear into anyone with a connection to the Vikings. It doesn’t take much for people to see a frustrated Jefferson and start talking about him being wasted and looking for a trade.
For Wentz, putting a smile back on Jefferson’s face is the way to ensure this starting role becomes a little more permanent.

#Vikings QB Kyler Murray likely has a grade 1 hamstring strain, which could sideline him 1-2 weeks, @RapSheet mentioned via @PatMcAfeeShow.
