WK 09 ~Bills @ Vikings Week ~ Discussion, Pressers, News, etc.

FYI ~ Adrian Peterson will be inducted into the Minnesota Vikings Ring of Honor.

Bills at Vikings Week - 1979: The Vikings have only played the Bills in Minnesota 5 times & MIN has won 3 of the 5. Here is the 1st win in MIN in 1979. It's Jim Marshall Appreciation Day (he retired at the end of the season the next week) - and here is the NBC Intro to the game. pic.twitter.com/DVEQjuz1Uc

Bills at Vikings Week 1979: A dull game; here are the Viking scores & both of Jim Marshall's sacks in the fan appreciation day for him. MIN wins 10-3. For the Jim Marshall supporters for HOF, his numbers do not indicate he is a HOFer. Two Pro Bowls in 20 years. Good leader. pic.twitter.com/HFOBywDreu

Bills at Vikings Week 1971 - As @Tbell6613 pointed out, THIS was the first Viking win vs BUF in Minnesota. Goodness, gracious - The Vikings allow only 64 yards of offense while sacking Bills QB Dennis Shaw 7 times (once for a safety) in the 19-0 shutout of the Bills. pic.twitter.com/GJmqqIzNX0

Vikes Defensive coverage doesn’t get enough love.
- Gink gets a sack with a beautiful spin.
- But watch Cash touch & go on the center and drop to the hot.
- Metellus roaming around, reads Goff’s eyes to take away in-cut.

Must read here by Alec who does an incredible job breaking down the complex roster situation the Vikings are in after this season and how it impacts the deadline. https://t.co/14brztcwSY

Every Jordan Mason carry from Sunday. Deejay Dallas played more snaps than Mason:

What to Watch For

• The Irresistible Force vs. The Immovable Object: Josh Allen and the Bills lead the NFL in scoring (33.3 PPG) and are coming off a dominant 36–10 blowout of the Ravens. They face a Minnesota defense led by Brian Flores that paces the league in fewest points allowed (13.3 PPG), sack percentage (10.96%), and pressure rate (45.8%).

• Vikings Bounce-Back: Minnesota dropped its first game of the year in a physical 19–15 divisional road loss to the Lions. Offensively, the Vikings are looking to get more traction under quarterback Kyler Murray (who has been managing hamstring tightness) or veteran backup Carson Wentz if Murray is limited.

• The Ground Game & Rushing Dynamics: Buffalo features a potent run game powered by James Cook III and Allen (who holds the NFL record for most quarterback rushing touchdowns with 88). Minnesota has shown occasional vulnerability against physical rushing attacks, making time-of-possession and red-zone efficiency critical.

• Tracking the Injury Report: Keep a close eye on Buffalo's skill-position and line health (including wideouts DJ Moore and Joshua Palmer, and right tackle Spencer Brown).

The Minnesota Vikings lead the all-time regular season series against the Buffalo Bills across 15 games.

All-Time Series Breakdown

• Overall Record: Vikings lead 9–6

• Playoffs: 0 meetings (never played in the postseason)

• Last Meeting: November 13, 2022 — Vikings won 33–30 in overtime in Buffalo

Bills at Vikings Week 2000: 1st year Starter Daunte Culpepper is elite, and it does not hurt that his main two receivers are Cris Carter and Randy Moss. Watch Minnesota comeback from a 3Q deficit to take a big lead and then hold on for the W. pic.twitter.com/plZpSUfZjU

Not Bills at Vikings Week, but this 2020 is one of the most satisfying wins to me. Love Cris Carter, but he was a jack wagon when he came back to the Dome as a Dolphin. The look on his face when OLD Gary Anderson hits from a too-deep 54 yards to win the game...Priceless. pic.twitter.com/iuogRlONJz
