Black Monday 2026: Raheem Morris Sacked
Well, that was surprising. The GM was also let go.
As a reminder, the Falcons interviewed the following (who later became head coaches) before opting for Raheem Morris:
- Macdonald (Seattle)
- Vrabel (Patriots)
- Harbaugh (Chargers)
- Ben Johnson (Bears)
The GM (Fontenot) really whiffed. Add that to drafting a 24 year old Penix with an injury history after signing Cousins in a huge deal was pretty crazy.
Question for the football minds: If BFlo moves on is Raheem Morris an option?
Kevin Stefanski out as the Brown's head coach, Brian Daboll out as the Giant's head coach, and Brian Callahan out as the Titan's head coach...
Falcons owner should fire himself while he's at it...
Very surprised about Stefanski, guy was in a shit show in Cleveland. I'll bet he's glad to be out and has a chance to re-boot.
Hurry-up Vikings, we ain't getting any younger!
You have to think Morris would be an option for the Vikings if Flores moves on. But I think I'd prefer to backfill with someone like Daronte Jones who might keep the Flores defense somewhat intact.
Makes you wonder if Morris's success in LA was due more to having Aaron Donald than him. But that's kind of a chicken or egg thing. Does Brian Billick owe his Super Bowl ring to Randy Moss?

While KOC has bucked this trend a bit, I have always contended that players make the coaches in the NFL...Especiallly QB

Raiders fire Pete Carroll after only one season...
I’m surprised that Stefanski is out. I kind of thought they’d hang onto him until Watson was off the books. I’m not really certain who wants to come in and be given a budget that already has $130M in dead weight on that one contract alone. People are suggesting that Stefanski will likely get a lot of looks for HC jobs.
That said, if I were him I’d probably be a bit more selective the second time around.
Cardinals just fired HC Jonathon Gannon.
Lots on the list already:
Titans
Giants
Falcons
Cleveland
Raiders
Cardinals
Thats almost 20% HC attrition - and it's barely noon on the east coast

How the hell do the Giants fire Daboll and keep that idiot GM? Same with the Raiders. You fire Carroll and keep the clown who brought him in and essentially gave him very little to work with. It's no wonder the same teams suck every year.
The Miami Dolphins have brought on Hall-of-Fame QB and ESPN analyst Troy Aikman as a consultant to advise the organization on its general manager search process, per sources.

It is not a permanent role, but he will be an advisor throughout the process for the Dolphins’ next GM. pic.twitter.com/a7GKAv0Ojf

Sad, I thought they were a great fit together. Couldn't stand either.

And the Titan's start over, making their #1 pick Cam Ward learn a new offense in year 2. Good work.

Agree. I think Stefanski is well respected around the NFL. Two-time COTY has to count for something.

Cleveland is known for their intellectual approach to hiring and drafting... and FA signings.
Well see how this works out.

Hey, that's where Kwesi came from! What are you trying to say... :P
