i feel like he’s either going to fumble or throw a pick. hes a friggin turn over machine.

The game ending pick. I noticed that Mullens just locks on one read and yolos it on most plays. Now look to the left. This is just sad. But fear not, KOC said he's going to "coach him up" lol. Like he did with Dobbs I guess?

We have had legendary fatheads that wedged their domes into helmets.
This discussion brought back a wild memory about this guy. In Don Riley's Eye-Opener column for Pioneer Press he wrote about the equipment manger, Stubby Eason, couldn't find a helmet large enough for this guy when he was drafted. Some comments about putting a face mask on a bathtub and his head didn't cast a shadow, it was an eclipse. Fifty years later these comments still bubble up when this topic presents itself, power of the press.

I'd roll with Hall at this point...See if he can show anything, maybe spark whats left of the offense.
Secretly I'm wishing for 7/10 at this point - Ive suffered in 23 and wants me some draft kiss on my owie.
In addition to the lack of a running attack in this game, these are the other big issues I have with KOC:
1) We have no short passing game: Our route trees mainly focus on intermediate to long designs that require the QB to hold onto the ball for way too long. I think Oliver, Mundt, Ham, and Chandler should all be featured more in the short passing game especially when they are stopping our rushing attack. Some easy 5 yard completions control time of possession and keep the chains moving. Also, it takes some of the gunslinging mistakes out of Mullens hands which he is prone to do.
2) He's still calling plays as if Cousins is behind center. I've said it before. It's starting to look like Cousins is the guy that has been making KOC's offense look good and not the other way around. Mullens has a limited skill set. So does Dobbs. Call plays that don't ask them to be more than they can be.
3) After he burns through his scripted plays and has to make play calls on the fly, he struggles. Not sure what can be done to get him to improve in this area, but this offense always seems to stall for big stretches of games after we look effective in our opening drives.

We went from poorly designed & executed TE screens to no screen game at all.

I agree, particularly on #3. The scripted stuff is put together as a staff effort during the week. But once KOC is calling the game it becomes very hit or miss.
Vikings are reportedly taking a "long look" as to whether they should bench Mullens and start Jaren Hall.
Let me help you out, the answer is YES, you dumb asses, yes!!!!

This is a good observation and certainly something KOC has struggled with. He's the anti Zimmer, who's defenses would routinely give up points early only to settle in as Zimm figured out what the offense was doing and made adjustments. We make no adjustments on offense and keep running the same thing under KOC.

I'm just over Nick Jameis Mullens. Watching that wounded duck floating out there and not reaching Jefferson was awful. It is absolutely putrid how he does those stupid throws to nowhere on the ground

That thought did enter my mind, especially down Addison and Hockenson, but I think the biggest culprit in forcing a young QB into bad habits and stunting his development is poor pass protection, and the OL is playing fairly well.
