Evertime Mullins drops back
i feel like he’s either going to fumble or throw a pick. hes a friggin turn over machine.
Fuck Mullens, time for Hall
Lol and Mullens with the duck of all ducks for yet another INT to kill our season.
Pin this on KOC. 16 yards rushing and Mullens, who is a turnover machine, dropping back all day long.
Man. Mullens is what he is… a backup. Makes some plays, but the dude just doesnt protect the football.

Ouchie Mama....
Just when I thought they can't hurt me any more lol!

Our inability to run the football and the lack of any kind of commitment to run the ball has killed us and contributed to all the turnovers. When you constantly put career backups who turn the ball over in position to turn the ball over....the result is as expected@"supafreak84" said: Pin this on KOC. 16 yards rushing and Mullens, who is a turnover machine, dropping back all day long. The Lions would like to thank Old St Nick Mullens for his generosity this Christmas season…! ;) B)
It appears Nick Mullens greatest liability is understanding situational football. Granted he is late, off target, throws wobbly balls and lacks mobility out of the pocket but jeez no force on 1st and 10 with a chance to win. Get rid of football or take a sack but don't get caught in nowhere vill, and give Jefferson a chance which he wasn't doing in the first half. It feels like Mullens has ZERO ability to process presnap game situation that a competent backup should at minimum be able to ascertain and have available in the form of mental memory so that he could concentrate on fixing other intangibles.
In short, it's Hall time
Mullins is a gunslinger by nature so he’ll take chances but he lacks the arm strength and accuracy to back it up. Farve was a gunslinger too but he had the talent to justify it.lets see what Hall has. Neither Dobbs not Mullins is an answer at QB —even as backups.

And why when Goff is putrid against the blitz and we are the blitzingest defense in the NFL do we suddenly play 3-man rush and a zone full of holes most of the day, letting Goff do whatever he needed?
I don't mind the losing so much as I mind the pure stupidity of this coaching staff.
Favre was not a mental midget which Mullens is. He either does not have mental awareness or chooses to ignore applying it to obvious situational football scenarios. That will always limit his ability to avoid game changing mistakes
In short, it's Hall time
It was Hall time three weeks ago
If Mullens last ball doesnt slip, we are prolly planning our playoff trip. Fandom is fandom, even I wanted the rookie after pick 2, but hey look, its not reality
@"Clanzomaelan" said: Why is it that whenever they show Mullens in his helmet, it looks like the helmet is too small for his face? Im not ripping the way the dude looks, but it just looks like his face is stuffed into the helmet.

We have had legendary fatheads that wedged their domes into helmets.

KOC was bad today. The game plan was bad, not even attempting to establish any kind of run game was bad, and his decision to stick with Dobbs and then Mullens was bad, when both have shown who they are

The KO critiques are fair but overblown in general I think. I agree, he’s bad at establishing the run. But on the other hand I love his play designs at times. The Osborne TD play was a thing of beauty. And the double pitch reverse where Mullens hit Mundt late is an easy TD if Mullens makes a better throw. On Mullens— It felt like he was channeling Jameis out there today. Not many checkdowns or underneath stuff even though our YAC was pretty good a lot of the times when he actually did check down. Dude was content lobbing dying quails all over the field and letting his targets make plays. It worked alright but he also had 3 picks, and could’ve easily had more.
Should KO have put Hall in? Idk. Hall’s a fifth round rookie. Odds are he’s just not good. Maybe we’ll see him get the start next week, but I’m guessing not. We lost today anyway though and have been losing a lot recently so I do get the, “screw it, put in the kid” thought process as well. Tough call.
EDIT- 4 picks. Woof.
Vet and new QB's that play against us, when the chips are down and they are backed into a corner, they close their eyes and throw up a prayer and the receiver makes a play. This would be a good play for us but we never do it. On Mullens last pass, or whatever that was, all he had to do was chuck it up high and far and JJ would have made a play. Why can't he see that? Did he actually think he was going to throw a perfect pass into coverage? All I have to say is: Cousins, Mullens, and Dobbs, Who cares?.........NEXT
Vikings QBs, games with 4 INTs since 2018:
— Janik Eckardt (@JanikEckardt) December 24, 2023
Kirk Cousins - 0 in 88 starts
Not Kirk Cousins - 2 in 8 starts
You could just see on JJ's face his enjoyment of the winning culture being nurtured by Mullins.
