So it seems the board is bittersweet about this win?
I thought I'd see a little more excitement. It seems there's a general unease that Dobbs is the one to lead the team to a win and not Jaren Hall. A sense that this was incredibly fluky, many want to see Jaren Hall in there for a full assessment and that the wheels are going to fall off of Dobbs with more game reps and exposure. I mean those are all legitimate concerns and opinions for sure, but with all the injuries and such, I think this season is really week to week. I mean, next week is going to be worse injury-wise probably than last Sunday. The Vikings are 5-4, winners of 4 straight. Impressive regardless. The Vikings put on a coaching clinic Sunday. Its obvious they are establishing a winning 'culture', where you are successful despite challenges, injuries and players moving on.
I know everything could turn to shit Sunday....I get it, I'm a Vikings fan. I guess I'm just surprised at the mostly subdued aspect of the win/game by many. Just an observation.

I truly believe that this team could contend for a Super Bowl with Cousins, a stable OL (which we’re on the cusp of) and a running game (that needs to be addressed).6 seasons Cousins was with us and how close have we come to a Super Bowl?
The Gaints playoff loss was just paththetic!
You mean that Giants game where Cousins had a higher passing percentage and QBR than Jones. Threw for 275 yds. while Cook managed only 60 yds. rushing. Where our defense gave up over 140 yds rushing, 300 yds. passing and 31 points to frickin' Danny Dimes? You're going to hang that one on Cousins? That's kinda weird.
Jones 114 QBr, Cousins 110 QBR
Vikings 4-10 on 3rd downs.
The game Check down charlie lived up to his name.As QB I rate Cousins 6 out of 10. And said he would never take us to a super Bowl.
And he hasn’t!
As a person, team mate and family man I will give him a 9 out of 10. always a little room for improvement.

He knew zero about the playbook, or teammates, protections, or audibles. With NO RUNNING Game and just beat the #6th best defense in their house without your best OL, WR, and #3WR.I think you are all used to the lack of mobility and what it means to have a mobile QB again. Extending drives, hitting second windows, turning broken plays into winning plays is now on the table again. It's what KC, Philly, Buffalo, LA has with their QBs. Especially against top D talent which you would face in the playoffs. Our OL isn't going to dominate week in and out, having a mobile Qb will give us more chances. Kirk lead Viking offenses have looked bi-polar at times, a couple of great quarters, and a couple of quarters of 3 and out. Week in and out. Lack of mobility was a huge part of that.
This also applies for Hall as well who might have a better floor as a NFL QB, would love to see what he can do with this team.
People overlook how many plays were made during that 2017 season by Case's legs. Dobbs isn't losing this ability. His knowledge of the playbook will only get better. The surrounding cast will only get better. He did a lot of things right in that game because they came naturally to him. He's not losing that ability as we roll forward.
He played an absolute trash team in Arizona and still beat Dallas. Hung closer to Baltimore (scoring 3 TDs vs that defense) than Detroit did, and had a very good game vs San Fransisco.
Is he going to have Kirk's passing performances? No. But is he going to get wins? Yes he will.
Dude.....daHUUUD. Nobody hates Dobbs. He wins again this week, we'll officially change his name to Dubs and ride him into the playoffs. It's just that many of us have seen this movie before. And not like a dozen times, more like a hundred times. Can he get hot, feed off the rhythm of the offense and its very good weapons and win several more games this year, maybe even take us on a miraculous run? You betcha. All that's possible. But the odds of a QB who's been released EIGHT times being anything more than a stopgap are nearly zero.
Not saying there are any haters on Dobbs. Just a lot of doubters and for no reason other than it didn't work out for in shitty franchises like Cleveland, Arizona, Detroit, Jacksonville. Not really a murderers row of talent evaluation. If anything he shows that a QB with legs can win on this team and we should stop paying Cousins a ransom. I think Hall can be that guy as well, so could Drake Maye, JJ McCarthy, Caleb, Nix, Penix. The NFL is not for 36 year old immobile QBs not named Tom Brady.
except Cousins was sort of killing it this season.
prior to the niners and packer games it was up and down. Dont really care about the stats.
