I hate that they report meaningless numbers.  Like who cares if it’s potentially 4 years $160M?  As far as we know it could be written in a
way that it’s effectively 3 years $90M.  How
much of that $160 is guaranteed at the time of signing? What is the lowest
amount it could reasonably be?  I think
all we really know is that at least $35M of that is incentive based.

So Daniel Jones is on the books for four years and $160 million with $82 million guaranteed at signing, per sources. There is another $35M available in incentives.

Donatell deserves a cut of this contract. Jones was barely average when not playing the Vikes in 2022.

That's a lot of money for a guy who isn't that good.

NFL teams have started gold-plating trash at the QB position.  It's honestly kind of embarrassing to witness.

This isn't surprising.....and shouldn't be. The devil you know. Decent NFL QBs are really hard to find and this proves it. Is Danny Dimes even decent? Open to debate. IMO, absolutely not.

Doesn't matter what I think, only what they think. To clarify, when I offered my "two types" theory, it was in terms of how FO's make their decisions on QBs, not whether it was right, wrong or otherwise. I'm more convinced of it now than ever...especially after Kwesi made his "threshold" comment about Cousins.

Right.  But does that mean people can't disagree with them and think this was a bad contract?

Sorry, but yeah, that scheme was all on him.  Players don't get a pass, but the opposing offense sure did.
