Pick 34 - available?
Who do we pick? Booth, right? Dean is tempting and Ojabo/Mafe are no slouches. Obviously, the Jags aren't going QB at 33 but another team has 24 hours to stew and trade up with them or us! I advocated for a trade down for weeks but did not expect a mortal Cine as our choice. But Cine and Booth are sweet and go a long way to fix our secondary hypothetically.
With our second pick Day 2 we lost 20 spots from 46 to 66. Then to complete out Top 100 picks is still pick 77.
Just trying to be optimistic (not my nature).

Tampa is on the clock… as for tomorrow’s Viking pick, I’m still speechless from round 1! :o ;) B)

They need OL or DL - Maybe Travis Jones so we have a choice???? No clue, I am also surprised by Cine and this board is like an old west tumble weed set. Still waiting for our draft gurus to sober up and give us minions some bread crumbs of hope :)
Not to call anyone out but here are some intials from our experts... GoooRUUU and Maroooondingding (all in gest)
Seriously give us your reads. It is valued by me!
None of those players appeal to me except Ridder. Trade down a little. Hope some team wants to give up extra to move up for a QB.
Its going to be extremely interesting to see where the QBs go. Just one taken in round 1. If Malik Willis isn't grabbed with one of these first few picks in round 2, the media SERIOUSLY overrated him. Some had him going with the 6th pick to Carolina, lol. I could see the Jags trading this pick before Minnesota.

Take Booth and move on...A safety and corner and I can breathe normal again...
I like Mafe a lot and think edge is a need... Too bad we don't have 46. Vikings could really load up today with some good prospects. Not impressed with Kwesi's trade last night. Unless we begged Detroit to trade up, we didn't get enough of a return for trading back with some blue chip guys available at 12.
A Booth pick would really fortify that secondary. Peterson, Dantzler, Booth, and Sullivan at corner. With Harry, Cine and Bynum at safety. Only real issue with Booth is injuries. He's got a long list, but if the Vikings clear him, he's right in that mix with McDuffie and Elam. But after Booth goes, there's a little drop off to McCreary and Gordon IMO.
Also a lot of value at edge with Mafe, Ojabo and Ebiketie. Love LB Dean too.
I would take Nakobe Dean and not think twice about it.

Can you imagine how the board would go off if they trade down again lol. There are some good players left. It is such an unusual draft.

Yep. The drop off at CB (a position of high need for us) is pretty steep after Booth.

Eh, I like McCreary. After those two I do think it drops, but Kyler Gordon is solid too.

I have to imagine Booth/Gordon will be high on the list. Mafe was a top-30 visit. Ojabo is just so intriguing. He is a redshirt guy but he fits so much of what the Vikings look for; young, ascending player with all the physical traits. You also have Smith & Hunter set this year so you could conceivably wait...

There's a buzz that they might. Sounds like they got an intriguing offer at 32 but declined. Rumor is that it was the Packers trying to move up for Pickens.

@"Geoff Nichols" said:Willis has some intriguing value here. Sure, he needs to learn how to play NFL QB, and he's a long ways from being able to do that, so while a 1st rounder is a big gamble, his upside in the 2nd round is going to be very tempting for teams. If a team doesn't trade up to 33, the Vikings are going to get some offers.@"MaroonBells" said:I personally would stay since the talent it too good, unless a team hoping for a QB is ready to grossly overpay.@"Vikergirl" said: Can you imagine how the board would go off if they trade down again lol. @"MaroonBells" said:Especially if the teams that need a QB don't want Baker. Carolina doesn't really have much to offer this year, but the Seahawks do. I hope Kwesi is spending a lot of time chatting with the Seahawks today to see what he can negotiate, especially with them having 40 & 41 (Not saying we would get both, just saying they have two early 2nd round picks).@"Geoff Nichols" said:Willis has some intriguing value here. That's exactly what this feels like. We took certain positions off the board at 12 and were determined to trade down which I completely disagree with. I brought this up earlier in the week with all of the trade down advocates. When you trade down and target certain players or positions like we did, this is exactly what can happen. We essentially devalued our own pick and outsmarted ourselves. It seems like we forced a trade and took the best offer we could get and got taken advantage of. The fans who are trying to justify the points exchange in the trade thinking we got equal value are missing the bigger picture. You don't sacrifice that much draft position in the first round without getting a premium to do it, especially with your division rival. We didn't need a WR when we took Moss and look how that turned out for us. I like Cine, but there was a good chance he would have been there with our 2nd if we would've stayed put and could have added an impact player at 12 between Williams or Davis. Cine will be a solid player, but you don't win Super Bowls in this league by settling on solid players.
