Pick 34 - available?
Who do we pick? Booth, right? Dean is tempting and Ojabo/Mafe are no slouches. Obviously, the Jags aren't going QB at 33 but another team has 24 hours to stew and trade up with them or us! I advocated for a trade down for weeks but did not expect a mortal Cine as our choice. But Cine and Booth are sweet and go a long way to fix our secondary hypothetically.
With our second pick Day 2 we lost 20 spots from 46 to 66. Then to complete out Top 100 picks is still pick 77.
Just trying to be optimistic (not my nature).

There are some good players left. It is such an unusual draft. I thought the same thing. There's a buzz that they might. Sounds like they got an intriguing offer at 32 but declined. Rumor is that it was the Packers trying to move up for Pickens.

@"Hawkvike25" said:I would deal 34 and 77 for 40 and 41 in a heart beat. Seattle gets their guy, we add another pick in the top 66, giving us 4 picks in a deep and talented draft class.@"MaroonBells" said:Especially if the teams that need a QB don't want Baker. Carolina doesn't really have much to offer this year, but the Seahawks do. I hope Kwesi is spending a lot of time chatting with the Seahawks today to see what he can negotiate, especially with them having 40 & 41 (Not saying we would get both, just saying they have two early 2nd round picks).@"Geoff Nichols" said:Willis has some intriguing value here. Sure, he needs to learn how to play NFL QB, and he's a long ways from being able to do that, so while a 1st rounder is a big gamble, his upside in the 2nd round is going to be very tempting for teams. If a team doesn't trade up to 33, the Vikings are going to get some offers.@"MaroonBells" said:I personally would stay since the talent it too good, unless a team hoping for a QB is ready to grossly overpay.@"Vikergirl" said: Can you imagine how the board would go off if they trade down again lol. Here's how I would take them...
1. Booth - We still need a corner
2. Gordon - "
3. McCreary - "
4. Dean - Cine and Dean
5. Hall - Just really like the player and 5T is a need
6. PIckens - He might top this list if we didn't still need a corner
7. Mafe - Don't think edge is a big need, but you can never have too many pass rushers
8. Ojabo - "
9. Ebiketie - "
10. Tindall - Didn't start at Georgia, but might have more NFL upside than those who did

That's a good list. I think CB is the #1 priority too. Instead of DE I would support a TE, especially at 66...not saying that's the pick I want, but I wouldnt be mad if we picked one then.
Unless they take a flyer on Willis, I'd think the pick would have to be a corner. My bet is on Kyler Gordon

Now they have painted themselves into a corner, no pun intented, and have to take a CB at 34 to get a potential starter. Fortunately, there are some good options that grade out well at this pick in the 2nd round.

We could have given up other capital if thats what had to happen but moving 20 picks in the 1st is a hell of a drop and should have been worth a hell of a lot more then what we got.
On Common's show, his draft guru guest is claiming there is a strong indication that the Vikings have already made a trade at 34 for a team wanting to move up for Malik Willis. Potentially the Giants, Atlanta, Lions, and Seahawks but that they may prefer Ridder over Willis. Interesting.

Where did you get this "best available" chart? Nakobe Dean is a stud, but should be way ahead of Malik Willis, whose own head coach (Freeze) said Willis is not ready for the NFL. Even more, Christian Watson (NDSU) and George Pickins (UGA) are still on the board!!
I was disappointed the Vikings traded down and did not take Hamilton -- but Cine is very good -- a Browner/Lott type -- ball hawk, big hitter, game changer.

If Detroit F**KS us again, I'm going to have a very hard time continuing to trust our new GM.

Interesting. If true, I would prefer Giants first and Seattle second with their picks today (38, 67, 81) and (40, 41, and 72). Atlanta has 43, 58, 74, and 82 so maybe them but 43 is probably too far as well. Detroit doesn't have much to offer and I dont want to go down to 46.
If we trade down again, it's going to start to look like the Rick Spielman show all over again...

I agree. If they give us our pick back to move up again when we never should have given it up in the first place my head will explode.
