Former #Packers OLB Za'Darius Smith is headed to Minnesota today for a visit with the #Vikings, per sources.

Smith's original deal with the #Ravens fell apart. Could he stay in the NFC North instead?

If he stays healthy, this is a HUGE signing.  The guy is a true impact player and immediately helps our putrid pass defense from a year ago.  What's the best way to stop 2nd and 4th quarter two minute drives?  Sack the damn QB!

Has he changed his mind yet? If he doesn't, this is a huge free agent signing by Kwesi that allows more options in the draft.

As we said yesterday, we knew the Vikings and Za’Darius were aligned but it moved up from $37M to $42M with incentives for 3 years. We really have sources

Za'Darius Smith joins the #Vikings and will team with Danielle Hunter to give them perhaps the top pass-rushing duo in the NFL.

Base value of 42 million

Worth up to 47 million with incentives

Two things make Za'Darius Smith a perfect fit for the #Vikings:

1) He's a true 3-4 OLB comfortable rushing standing up out wide, but powerful enough to kick inside

 2) He's such a good pass rusher that you can rush 4 & drop 7 in coverage all day — huge key for Fangio's coverages
