No Kwesi! NO!- Mannion Re-Signed
For comparison's sake.
Anyone want Mannion for similar money?

Anyone want Mannion period?

Mannion is a good sounding board for him and I would presume he wouldn't get more than the vet minimum.why does he need a “sounding board”, ? For advice? Good God this is worse than i thought

Not upgrading the back up position is a shame and shows we are weak in an honest assessment about the investments.
I stand by my statement of last year in the argument of putting down the ole dog mannion as a player---if he ever touches the field, you've signaled your season is over.
All the QBs moving around this offseason reminds me of when Matt Flynn was a backup QB and had basically one good game and got a huge contract from Seattle.
That could’ve been you this year, Mannion. You could’ve had class. Could’ve been a contenda.
So starting QB Kirk Cousins stays for 2022 and now so does Mannion, whom Cousins values.
Unreal. I was hoping Mond would have a chance at 2nd string. Wonder if the new staff has the roster set in stone now in march like the old staff did?
Mannion's practice tape must be outstanding. That's the only thing I can think of.

The idea that a 10 year vet needs an additional person besides the OC and QB coach to discuss more stuff is comical and lame.Mannion, in the words of Everson Griffen, is MORE ARSE than Cousins.
If he has to play ANY, then we are in more trouble than a little bit.
I have no clue what ANALYTICS led to this brilliant decision.
Resigning him is hilariously infuriating. That being said, let's wait and see if he makes the team or if Mond gets a fair shot to beat him out this year

Agreed. I don't care if he's icing Kirk's throwing shoulder down between drives, we know the guy can't play. Trash signing.
It's early of course: But almost everything Kwesi/FO have done is the opposite of what I was hoping.
I am starting to wonder/question if the elder FO staff we were bragging about when we were interviewing for a new GM and HC brought Kwesi in for status quo?
I think Spelly may have wielded too much power and now they want to have someone they can mold or scapegoat if things don't go well.
Kwesi has a presser tomorrow so hopefully he provides a glimmer of hope as opposed to the same crap different day.

In Kwesi's defense he inherited a tough cap situation when he took the job and we don't know how much power he actually wields when all is said and done with ownership. It was reported the Vikings had a trade offer for Cousins that the Wilfs shot down. I'm assuming for them to shoot it
down, it was something Kwesi took to the Wilfs for final approval. I admire the Wilfs enthusiasm and always believing the team is a couple players away from a Super Bowl but that's not always the case and sometimes more of an overhaul is needed to move forward beyond mediocrity. So how much Kwesi actually wanted to put a stamp on the organization in his first year and turn things around, we might never know.
With all that said, it's odd we haven't addressed our biggest needs and I don't see any of the free agents we brought in thus far as upgrades to the players we lost;
Phillips replaces Pierce- upgrade only from the standpoint that he hasnt been injured. Both players being healthy and on the field...I'd take Pierce
Mundt replaces Conklin- Johnny is a terrific blocker but Conklin is the much better receiving threat.
Hicks replaces Vigil- I'm okay with this going to a 3-4 although how much better Hicks is at this point to Vigil we'll never know. I'd say Hicks is better but not by a lot.
Schlottman replaces Mason Cole- Meh, both guys are backup players.
Still need an edge, cornerbacks, and upgrades at center and right guard. Instead we've re-signed Mannion.
