Free Agency Day Two

Get at least Thielen and Hunter done now so that we can sign someone with a heavier price tag and then work on the others@"kmillard" said: Vikings missing out on any decent guards or centers, just like the old regime. Actually we don’t have to be cap compliant till Wednesday, Phillips’ deal exceeded the cap,
Fudge are agreeing with players & are way in the butt… ;)
Again, reckless speculation on my part, but Hunter might be on his way to Buffalo. This rumor won't die. Regardless, something is happening with Hunter. I think that's the hold up.
Judd indicates in this episode that the Wilfs said no to a potential Kirk trade w/o a viable backup plan.
Plus Doogie mentions a new team maybe having interest Hunter

Would love to hear if Geoff has any insight on what the offer was and from what team? I'd assume Indy
@"JustinTime18™" said:Damnit. Maybe when we figure Thielen and Hunter we will get Bobby Wagner? :) Speak it into existence?LB Josey Jewell back to the Broncos for a two-year, $11-million deal, per source.

For Kirk or Hunter? The Hunter trade scenario is very complicated with the $18M bonus. Its a big 3-way staring contest the way I understand it.- Hunter wants new money on the deal (not prorating the roster bonus). The Vikings are ok with giving it to him in that format albeit the guarantees down the road are worrisome.
- The pass rush market is not moving very quickly due to the deep draft class. So offers aren't very compelling to pull the trigger
- Plenty of team want the Vikings to eat at least a portion of the roster bonus in a trade, which they don't want to do.
So we keep waiting.

Yeah I was referring to this alleged trade offer for Cousins that the Wilfs shot down

That's what I have been saying. The Wilf's wanted Kirk all along and they found a GM and HC who believed they could make that work. I also suspect Harbaugh didn't want Kirk.
As far as Hunter goes, I believe they will move him but it's just a matter of finding the best deal. They can't do much else until they figure that out.

So now the Wilfs and OConnell both got what they wanted, two more years of Cousins and paying him big bucks. Hope it's all worth it

Not saying dealing Kirk with zero backup plan was a genius-level move or anything, but also don't love hearing that our owners are meddling. Hmm

Fuck Hunter, great player when healthy, but missing the better part of 2 consecutive seasons does not make him an asset worth unloading the bank on with any guarantees.
NE trading Shaq Mason to TB for a 5. TB lost both starting OGs and now traded for one with 2 SB rings. Meanwhile, the Vikings are ...? Not looking for an OG? How about Tretter at C ?

Shaq Mason for a 5th rounder is theft and annoys me. Dude is a stud OL and still has two years left on his friendly contract. Seems like Bill threw Tom a bone here
