For releases, players like Michael Pierce, Anthony Barr, C.J. Ham may depart the organization. While those men are effective players, there might not be a spot for them on the 2022 roster for the Kevin O’Connell approach to football. Pierce is expensive and injury-prone, Barr almost left three years ago and probably will actually bolt this time, and the Rams offense didn’t fancy fullbacks under O’Connell and Sean McVay.
On restructures, that may be a boatload of veterans, especially if Kwesi Adofo-Mensah conducts business like Rick Spielman. Players such as Adam Thielen, Danielle Hunter, and Harrison Smith are names to remember for contractual renegotiation. Oh, and Kirk Cousins is in that camp, too, if Adofo-Mensah does not trade the quarterback. Although, Cousins’ money is notoriously guaranteed, so his deal would probably be an extension if he continues to wear purple and gold clothing.

I just read that the Vikings can clear $27 million of cap by a quick addition of dead years to Cousins contract. He’d likely be up for it as it wouldn’t hurt him at all.
That would create 27m (appr.) in dead cap for next year.
That plus cut Pierce...there's $37mm in cap space, plus +$25mm more in league-wide space...now you've got maneuvering room.

- With the NFL's legal tampering period for free agents opening on Monday and the new league year beginning on Wednesday, we're about to find out Kwesi Adofo-Mensah's vision for the Vikings' roster. The first-time GM has been quiet so far, but moves are coming. At the very least, Minnesota needs to clear over $15 million from their books to become salary cap compliant.
One move and we're just about flat. Take take of Hunter and we're probably $16+.
They'll still probably want more after that, so they could keep restructuring Saints style, but reports are that they're gonna offload a vet

Sidetrack from our beloved Vikings but in looking at Spotrac the last few days how good is it to be the Bengals:
1 - Joe Burrow - 2022 Cap hit 9 million, 2023 Cap hit 11.5 million (I wonder if they will do his fifth yr option:)
2 - youngest team age wise for players under contract
3 - Currently 7th most CAP space at 37 million under
4 - Chase on a 4 yr rookie deal - 2022 Cap hit 7million
