Gentlemen, start your interviews - Tuesday 12/28
Let Zimmer know now that he is not part of the plan next year so we can get a jump on interviews and candidates.
With the NFL's new rules allowing clubs to begin interviewing candidates on Tuesday, Dec. 28, the Jags can start their search in earnest this week.
NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported Sunday on NFL GameDay Morning that the initial list of candidates the Jags are interested in interviewing includes Buccaneers offensive coordinator Byron Leftwich, and former head coaches Jim Caldwell and Doug Pederson.
Leftwich, the former Jaguars first-round pick in 2003, has ties to Jacksonville from his playing days. The OC is expected to be a hot candidate this year after helping lead a Bucs offense that enters Week 16 ranked first in the NFL in scoring.
I just dont get Leftwich as a hot candidate....Me thinks he's the benefactor of having that cast on offense, especially Brady.
Fangio & LaFleur (AHC) combo to me would be best.
Fangio takes over the defense, LaFleur is the future HC
Leftwich is worthy of consideration. We really need to find an innovative offensive mind that can take this team to the next level, and they may be forced to do it with Mond at QB. No way Cousins will be back at his $45 million cap hit next year, and I don't see him willing to take a pay cut. He put up good numbers this season and will definitely get a team to pony up a hefty new contract for him after he is cut.

Only way out is a trade where we pick up a chunk of the money most likely.

Mond did/has not improved enough to dress up for a single game let alone play and we are going to turn the offense over to him? Imagine if we would have drafted a higher ranked QB? I have been with Mike O. all along. Zim and Rick should have been let go at least two years ago.

I dont like Leftwich either as I also think he’s a Brady benefactor. Their running plays never look right and then look at their receiving weapons. He may be good, I just lean towards the group of guys on offense making him look good
We were, and still are, locked in on the $45 million to Cousin's even if we drafted Fields or Mac. The only way out is a trade, and that takes 2 to tango, or another renegotiation (I puked a little in my mouth).
With Cousin's 45 million hit we are already the team most over the CAP for 2022 according to Spotrac.
He has us by the nads and he is asking us to cough, mask free :)

Fairly certain it’s the Saints who are the team most over 2022 cap. Vikes are 4th?
KC's future here is so tied into what they do @ HC and GM...
I can even fathom pondering the QB position till I know whether Zimmer is returning or not.
Nope, I still dont think its a done deal he's gone after this season. Even after today.
Smart move would be to take advantage of the new rules. Hopefully we inform Zim soon and get the ball rolling.
5th time we've lost after winning the turnover battle. This year has been one outlier after another.

I feel its time to move on for many, I cant imagine any excitement bringing back the same 3 or even 2 out of 3 (Zim, Cousins, The Guy Who Puts his shoes on first before his pants)

Lololololz thank you for making me aware of the fact that Rick puts on his socks and shoes before his pants. Wtf, how had I never heard or read about that before? Not mocking you at all, but that type of weird shit should get you fired immediately.
Keep banging your head against a wall and expect the pain to stop. Continue to put your faith in an organization that has done less with its opportunities than just about anyone else. 60 years and ZERO trophies. Uf da is an understatement.
everyone says this team has a lota talent and it's coaching so then that the case I say kep rick bye bye Zim
Rick has been unable to put together an offensive line since he has been here.
He also has been unable to find us a QB.
Rick and Zimmer both need to go.

With the Vikings loss to the Rams, that's now 35-2.
