Fast forward to the 9:15 mark when AT talks about the disappointing 3 and out after the Barr tip and INT.  At the 9:30 mark he says, "I'm just a player, I don't call the plays" and adds "we gotta make whatever play is called work and find a way to make it the best play".

You're only given a little spark of madness. You mustn't lose it. — Robin Williams

That was my thought Mike. But apparently it is ok for him to do. Diggs was right. Need to start clean with coaching. No more running like it's 1995. I don't want to lose Jefferson too.

Apples and oranges.  Diggs pulled his shit when the team was having success but it just wasn't going through him.  This team is is on a shit slide and no stopping it in sight .

diggs pulled this shit because Cousins turned into scared Kirk vs San Francisco when the plays and options were there.

Despite being the super bowl runner up, we could have beat SF in their place with a fearless Cousins.  Rosenfels broke this down, Diggs knew Kirk wasnt the guy

We weren't beating SF with Mahomes at QB. That team dominated the Vikes in every fashion...Vikes had 21 total rushing yards, a fumbled punt return in our own red zone, gave up 6 sacks, 9 TFL, and 9 QB hits. Kirk did look like he was playing scared in that game, I will agree, but that was an ass whopping similar to NFCCG vs Philly.

SF ran through both of our lines like they weren't there, did the same thing to GB one game later.  No QB is expected to have a brilliant game with no protection...and his line was rated 29th.

I watched the Buffalo - Jacksonville game live and saw plenty of Diggs pouting on the sideline and half-assing it during the game. He's 15th in the NFL in receptions and after a great season last year, his displeasure is on full display this year.

Blame Cousins all you want for Diggs' 'dissatisfaction' but he's a diva and always on the border of being a malcontent.

Just like Harvin, only Diggs can actually run a route.  As I have said before, NFL teams will put up with quite a bit depending on the talent level.  When a player gets traded in their prime in a non-firesale, the baggage is getting too heavy for them to carry.  OBJ, Diggs, Harvin...

From what I have been told it wasn’t really cousins that diggs had an issue with but more the sirection of the offense in general. I would say that seemed pretty accurate from inside the lockeroom at the time. There didn’t seem to be any issues but then again players know how to act when the locker room is opened up. So who knows.

Diggs was always pretty good with us so I don’t think he is a bad guy. I think he is competetive and gets frustrated easily.

100% right. Minnesota did NOT want to trade Diggs....last thing they wanted. But like you said, it became untenable. Which is really hard to do in the NFL.

If you remember at the time Thielen wasn’t happy either. Everyone thought it was all about Cousins. I don’t believe it was. I think it was more about the system and what the offense was allowed to do. Now we hear Adam starting to be vocal in the media again. Albeit not nearly as vical as Diggs was.

I remember Cousins apologized to Thielen. That was so bizarre to me. I don't think it was all about Cousins either. I really hope they can get the right people in place so the team can move forward. There is talent and there are issues but they should be able to fix this and get better. Hopefully they listen to Thielen. He definitely is not getting any backlash for speaking out.

The Cousins/Zimmer relationship is toxic and permeates throughout the team.

I can only look forward to a clean slate next year hopefully a new HC and a new starting QB.  I have wanted to move on from Zimmer the season after our Eagles debacle so after the 2018 season - almost 3 years now.  Cousins I tried to convince myself was "good enough with all the right pieces" up until this year.  He is such a weirdo and lacks leadership skills like Zimmer always throwing passive aggressive blame around.

It is very hard to root for a team where you don't like the HC or starting QB but also can't break 45+ years of being an avid loyal fan.

The buzz starting up now that I’ve seen a few times is Kyle Shanahan to the Vikings in 2022. Of course it makes sense. Would it really happen though?

I think its very possible. And I'd be for it. He's an excellent coach and game strategist, IMO. Still young at 41. I just read he was born in Minneapolis?? I'd love to see him coach Cousins and mentor a young, drafted QB (Mond or someone new).

I’d be for it too. My favorite, though probably never will happen candidate is Kellen Moore, but I’d be good with Shanahan. I want to see the O go through the roof for a change.

I was reading that Kellen Moore said he was good where he is but can always change. I am curious if Shanahan could be successful here, at least he is innovative.

Oh oh, unsurprisingly, whispers on Zimmer… :o

Jeremy Fowler and Dan Graziano of ESPN discussed a number of NFL topics in a back-and-forth piece, including the job security of some coaches. According to the report, the Las Vegas Raiders, Chicago Bears, Denver Broncos, Jacksonville Jaguars and Minnesota Vikings could all be looking to replace their head coach before the 2022 campaign.

There wouldn't be much surprise if some of these clubs head in a different direction.

Matt Nagy has faced plenty of scrutiny this season, and the Bears have a rookie in Justin Fields who could finally be the franchise quarterback they have needed for so many years. Making sure he is paired with an ideal coach is crucial, so Chicago could look elsewhere if there is any lingering doubt.

Still, Fowler said Nagy could get the rest of the 2021 campaign to see if he can develop some momentum with Fields as the organization looks forward.

Elsewhere in the NFC North, the Vikings firing Mike Zimmer could surprise some since he is 67-52-1 since taking over for the 2014 season. However, Fowler noted "there have been whispers that players are worn out by his coaching style."

Who would be surprised if Zimmer is fired? Seriously? Come on now.

I know the 49ers aren't having the best season, but are they seriously thinking about moving on from Shanahan now?  If they did, Zygi should be the first caller to bring him here.  I guess the current zone blocking, Minnesota personal history, and Kirk would be pretty enticing for KS as well but I can't see them letting him go.
