Source says Kene Nwangwu is likely to go on injured reserve with a designation to return after hyperextending his knee during the #Vikings’ first preseason game. He’ll likely end up on the 53-man roster today, and would need to be placed on IR tomorrow to return this year.

Worth noting that PFF charged Chisena with as many missed tackles on special teams last year (6) as the rest of the Vikings' roster combined. Still, you can't teach speed, and the Vikings must feel like Chisena has improved both as a gunner and a receiver in his second season.

Probably provides another speed option, if they go w/ more 3 WR sets…

Despite his preseason heroics, A.J. Rose Jr. has been waived. With Kene Nwangwu headed to short-term IR, this essentially confirms Ameer Abdullah is making the roster. The #Vikings could also look to waivers for a different RB3.

Question is, does Rose contribute on special teams?  I believe Abdullah plays on most phases of ST
Abdullah won't be returning anything, maybe a gunner but I dont recall hearing his name much as anything other than a KR.

Maybe it is just an assumption since he is praised for his special teams contributions.  I don't think his 'returns' would classify as contributions.
