First Cuts Are In

I hope Rose has shown enough on special teams to take that RB3 spot,  I like him as a runner and think he could be more with better talent around him.

Yep. Mattison is signed through next year and is likely gone to greener pastures after that. If we can keep Rose around on the cheap he looks like he might be able to step into the backup RB role once Mattison moves on.

NFL is keeping expanded practice squad (16 players) rules (w/ ability to protect up to 4 PSQ per week) in 2021. Here are a couple I think could be candidates to bring back in MIN: -I have them going thin at safety on my 53, so I project Metellus/Dorn to PSQ b/c of ST potential

-RB AJ Rose balled out this preseason. Might be a hard one to clear waivers but if so, he should be back. -Who they sign at TE determines where Davidson goes. Could always see Dillion/Davidson on 53 before they sign someone else, cut one of those 2 and then put them on PSQ

-I have Vikings w/ 6 LB. Whoever doesn’t make it b/w Lynch or Connelly is PSQ candidate -DE Kenny Willikes had a good camp. PSQ candidate. -Perry Nickerson, need depth at corner always so why not keep 1-2 on PSQ -QB Jake Browning -OL: keep Hinton & Bailey as emergency fill ins

Denver is going to cut 2 TE's who run a similar scheme that are more ready to play than Davidson in Shaun Beyer and Austin Fort.  Been advocating Beyer here for a long time, and I know Denver is worried about him getting snatched up to an active roster based on his preseason play.  Fort has in game experience with Beyer more potential and very solid in the blocking game.

Lions are waiving third-year linebacker Jahlani Tavai, the 43rd overall second-round pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, per source. They tried to trade him but no takers.

I'm beginning to think a team TRYING to suck couldn't do any worse than the Lions. Tavai taken before AJ Brown, DK Metcalf, Terry McLaurin. Any one of these would be better than the jokers the Lions have at WR. 

FWIW, family friend texted last night that Shaun Beyer is indeed going to be cut

 and Spielman took Gladney over AWjr,  Barr over Donald,( i throw that one in because i know you were on the right side of history on that one)  and many other greatest hits misses.

Tye Smith & Herc look to be among the first to get cut.
