The one thing I can tell from this...
Seemed like a continuation of last season. A few guys looked exceptionally bad. But Zimmer treated it like a meaningless game, and that's what it was.
I think there were quite a few players yesterday who were being given last chances...and didn't pass.
Really disappointed in QB2
I haven't attended a pre-season game in at least 5-7 years. My time is worth more than that. I always give my tix to neighbor mom/dads to take their kids. It's a win/win.

Denver played a lot of 1's and we played a lot of guys who shouldnt be on an NFL Roster (Dozier and Samia). I'm going to continue to enjoy my vodka redbull because I know this team has what it takes this year. Really can't take anything from this game as you say. Its just kind of a travesty that they charge fans for garbage football like this for those in attendance.https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2021/08/13/vikings-preseason-tickets-going-for-as-little-as-3/
I'd pay $3 for a preseason game if it included a complimentary 16 oz beer...

Good or bad you can't make any judgments on anything. Fans will lose their minds in either direction, crowning players or eviscerating them.Wake me up in September and no major injuries please.
I don't think they are meaningless for depth reasons but many fans get overly disappointed or excited.
I was watching to see depth and to see who might be making the team. I probably watched 5 games this weekend so around 10 teams. No team, even those that didn't play starters came out as flat as we did!
We saw the same weaknesses leftover from last year - bad OL, bad ST's, and a bad secondary.
Hoping to see better and more inspired play from our 2 and 3's the next 2 preseason games.
No doubt, on paper, we have a playoff caliber team. But we need some guys to surprise and step up even if just rotational and depth for injuries.
Lastly, I do not like that Mond comment from Zimmer at all.

The Vikings rested almost anybody of consequence, so Dantzler playing suggests he has a lot of work to do to build on an encouraging rookie campaign.
I could be wrong about this given I have been wrong once before ;), but Dantzler isn't the greatest athlete nor all that fast. He strikes me as more of a system guy who can work a game plan pretty well. Given that preseason really doesn't have much of a game plan, I'm wondering if he could be one that shows poorer in preseason than in regular season. I hope that is the case anyway.

On Rose, when you are losing 33-6 5 minutes into the 3rd quarter, why are you running the ball that much? Next possession, 12 runs (including a couple of scrambles), 3 passes. Next possession; 5 runs (1 scramble), 2 passes. Next: 1 run, 2 passes. Last: scramble, run, pass. I am sorry but if you are losing 33-6 and running the ball, you are going to get yardage. Did the coaching staff want to see whether the back-ups could run block against a prevent defense? Or make sure Mond could hand off the ball?

Yea and like I mentioned this was Kubiak's first called game - preseason matters - not the overall score etc but position battles, depth and game experience matters for players and coaches.

Honestly, I think they were trying to keep Mond from having to do too much the first time out.

I get that but why play him at all. He had missed ten days of practice and Zimmer had indicated that he was not going to play. The smarter play was hold him out this game and get him truly prepared for the next game. One of many weird coaching decisions. But more, my comment related to not reading too much into Rose's performance. Letting Rose get 5 yards a pop when leading 33 to 6 is the right call by the Broncos.

The broncos werent playing to win and neither were we. We ran plays to see how players responded. The score didnt matter even a little bit.

Totally agree. I would not have played Mond. I just hope we didn't set him back a couple of weeks by putting him in there before he was ready. Not sure if Stanley and Etling just weren't available? I don't know.
