Mike Zimmer had high praise for James Lynch; he said the defensive tackle has exceeded expectations and improved quite a bit during camp. The Vikings see him as a three-technique, but have moved him into the nose tackle spot to see how he looks there.

Wyatt Davis (#51) can sure move. Nice rep from him here. pic.twitter.com/2jNrBUB9A2

"He's very confident, very cocky," Mike Zimmer said. "Likes to jab a little, talk a little bit."
Hmmmm. We had another 5th round pick like that. Maybe we should just trade him now for Buffalo's first right now.

I still believe this is the best lineup the Vikings could have: Darrisaw-Cleveland-Bradbury-Davis-O'Neill and Udoh top swing OT. But shit happens and that probably won't ever be the way it goes down. Right now, I still don't see what others see in Ezra Cleveland. I also don't trust having two starting guards over 6'5" tall. Its a leverage problem. JMO.
Oli Udoh, once again, outplays Dakota DozierFor the entirety of training camp, the Vikings had Oli Udoh and Dakota Dozier split reps at right guard with the first-team offensive line. In this humble observer's opinion, the competition there isn't even close. Frankly, there isn't one. The job needs to be Udoh's.
The third-year converted tackle was one of the biggest breakout stars of this year's camp, along with K.J. Osborn and Browning. His combination of size, strength, and athleticism appear to translate very nicely at guard. All camp long, Udoh made things happen in the run game, pass protected well, and won most of his 1-on-1s.
Dozier had some solid moments, but on the whole, he wasn't nearly as good. Plus, there's an entire 16-game season of tape that tells you the veteran was one of the worst offensive linemen in the NFL last season. Why go back to that well when Udoh offers a higher floor and ceiling?
The trend continued on Thursday. Dalvin Cook broke off a few nice runs towards the right side, with Udoh and Brian O'Neill opening up lanes. Dozier was driven back in the pocket far more frequently than Udoh was.

If Dozier starts, I'm going to lose my shit. Seriously.

I wouldn't worry too much about their height. Best guards in the NFL--Quenton Nelson, Joe Thuney, Brandon Scherff--all 6-5. I think the Vikings like the added size inside (that's what she said).Agree that Udoh, with his vine-like arms and athleticism, seems better suited outside, but if he's among the best five, you gotta get him on the field.
Cleveland will be a revelation this year at LG.

From all of the Vikings cam on insta, the riddles/questions, he seems goofy and young versus cocky and diva.
He has the physical talent, but could have a .10 head like Patterson did. Let's hope he matures as time goes on because no doubt he has a lot of tools to use.
Become one bro, don't be one

Him being our 5TH DT is a luxury.
DL rotation could be huge this year IF WONNUM and LYNCH continue to progress on their upward path.

Indeed. And the LBs will be fresh with the big 2 up front.
