Reigning MVP Aaron Rodgers is so disgruntled with the Green Bay Packers that he has told some within the organization that he does not want to return to the team, league and team sources told ESPN on Thursday.

If Aaron Rodgers retires (to host Jeopardy or just retire), he would have to repay the team $11.5M this year and $11.5M if he remains retired next year — all from his signing bonus. Unless the situation is repaired to his liking, this is a serious consideration, I’m told. twitter.com/RapSheet/statu…

hahaha, yeah sure.  $23 mill to repay and he doesn't get his salary?  I think not.  He seems more like the passive aggressive type that would play but play poorly to get people fired.

Every time I need a little 'pick me up' I come to this thread. I don't know what we did to deserve this but it does *not* get old.

Damage is done and probably irreparably...

Hard to believe that kicking the field goal and taking Rodgers off the field, didn't make him a little salty.
Maybe they could get McCarthy back from the boys!

Packers CEO acknowledges meeting Aaron Rodgers to discuss concerns

By STEVE MEGARGEE Associated PressMay 1, 2021 — 1:01pm

Green Bay Packers CEO Mark Murphy says he is "very much aware" of quarterback Aaron Rodgers' concerns with the organization and acknowledges team officials have flown out to meet the reigning MVP on multiple occasions.
Murphy added that the Packers want to keep Rodgers in Green Bay in 2021 and beyond. He discussed the Rodgers situation in a column posted on the Packers' website on Saturday.
"This is an issue that we have been working on for several months," Murphy wrote.
Murphy said that he, general manager Brian Gutekunst and coach Matt LaFleur "have flown out on a number of occasions to meet with Aaron."
ESPN reported Thursday that Rodgers has indicated he doesn't want to return to the Packers. The ESPN report had said Murphy, Gutekunst and LaFleur had flown out separately to meet Rodgers during the offseason.
Gutekunst said Thursday night he has no plans to trade Rodgers and that he remained confident the three-time MVP would play for the Packers again.
Murphy wrote that the Packers have been working with Rodgers and his agent, David Dunn, to resolve the 37-year-old quarterback's concerns about the organization. Murphy doesn't specify the nature of those concerns.
"We remain committed to Aaron in 2021 and beyond," Murphy wrote. "He is not only a tremendously talented player, but has developed into a true leader for us. The relationship that Aaron has forged with Matt and the other offensive coaches has propelled us to the brink of the Super Bowl in two straight years. We look forward to competing for another Super Bowl championship with Aaron as our leader."
Rodgers has three years remaining on his contract after signing a four-year, $134 million extension in August 2018.

Not sure how accurate all the rumors are about this, but its obvious Rodgers isn't happy. No way a franchise is going to shit-can a GM that just had their team in the NFCC game. My guess is something will be worked out and Rodgers will settle down a bit, enough to play in GB this year.

He's about as good of a GM as his Dad was as a Head Coach. For our sake, I hope the Packers choose him over Rodgers and we can watch him perform his magic outside of the division. If the Packers underestimated Rodgers resolve to not return to the team, they definitely screwed themselves by not moving him during the draft. They have put themselves in a no win situation. I could easily see Rodgers sitting out until Week 10 before reporting which will completely derail the Packers season.

Agreed.  Ideally K'Arron stays and stays passive agressive.  But certainly I like the GB front office and their draft abilities.

I know these guys are all “alphas” but it always amazes me when front offices can’t make their star players/golden geese feel wanted. Going back to the 1998 Chicago Bulls, it almost never works out if you let the star leave. Pats watched Tom Brady leave just last year, how’d that go for them?

You don’t want your QB running the organization but you REALLY don’t want them going across town and winning.

Loving all this GB drama and hope it continues. Couldn’t happen to a more humble group of fans.
